“Trump just guaranteed his impeachment.”

I’ve seen a lot of people say this on these boards. My question is “On what charge?” He hasn’t done anything that even starts to reach high crimes and misdemeanors. People may not like what he’s done, but we still live in a democracy and the judicial process is still part of it, so please tell me what he’s done to even start an impeachment process? And they’ve tried about everything from trying to prove collusion with Russia without facts to sexual acts possibly accomplished a generation before he became POTUS. Which is not against the law and hasn’t even been determined yet other than an attorney “implying it, only” without displaying proof.

The IG report on DOJ / FBI misdeeds will change the narrative soon. But in order for Congress to take any action and appoint another special counsel for FISA abuses, Klinton crime foundation, etc., they'll need some major nudging, such as the threat of being Cantorized.

I say let's wait a few weeks and see what happens. If anything can fire up the base to primary the RINOs, it would be that type of issue.

And of course, the upcoming SCOTUS vacancies. Why would any GOP voters stay home, with the prospect of majority leader Putz Schumer deciding, for example, that Merrick Garland is the only acceptable replacement for Clarence Thomas?!

on any charge they care to make up. their media will back them, legions of lawyers will speak on the evil of DJT and the charges. Who will defend, who will stop it - not the GOP who will be in the minority, then who?

Proof is and will be what they say it is. Like the Judge running for Supreme Court in WI said - “The law is garbage, and is what ever we say it is.” (She will likely win in the April elections, and WI will go back to being a Dem state.)

I disagree Mr. Trump guaranteed his impeachment... I think they were laying a trap for him, they were going to let him veto it and then override it, showing him up as weak, but he declined to step into the trap. Moreover, it would have left him fighting with Congress instead of driving his agenda forward.

However, the reason they say that is because the house doesn’t need “real” crimes to impeach, just “political” crimes and enough votes to make it pass—IF they take control.

I've been asking the same question, ON WHAT GROUNDS? I have yet to read any specifics from lead impeachment blowhard, Maxine Waters. Give me just one misdemeanor...just one since he took office.
