And asking the question “are you a citizen” is not “not counting” the respondent, just clarifying whether the person counted is a citizen or not. It’s easy to talk out of both sides of your mouth if you’re two-faced.

The DemocRATs of today bear strong resemblance to their predecessors who wanted slaves counted in the census for the purpose of inflating their representation in Congress. Slaves were not considered citizens, nor were they allowed to vote. Yet the DsmocRATs wanted them counted when it came time to apportion districts.
It seems that DemocRAT sanctioned vote fraud and negation of citizen votes have a long sordid history. I would say that the Dems have not given up slavery, either, since illegals are very frequently smuggled in by human traffickers, and many illegals are, in fact, used as slave labor. Slavery is illegal, but why would Dems care about that?

Strategically speaking, it would have better to include the questions quietly in the last month or so before the census. Trump doesn’t have to announce things so much in advance that our opponents have an opportunity to scramble a boisterous response. They could try to “go to the courts” but to try to stop a Census in progress, the data from which, which would be needed for the proper re-allocation of congressional representation as well as the retooling of spending formulas, would throw our systems into chaos!(if the census should be tied up in the courts).
