What weather should we really worry about?

Earth is a dangerous place. Of all the species that have ever lived, over 95% have already been extinguished by natural disasters.

Ice, not global warming, is the big killer, and this recurring calamity often strikes quickly. Thousands of mammoths and other animals were killed by ice storms, and their snap-frozen bodies are still entombed in ice around the Arctic. Just 15,000 years ago, great ice sheets smothered the northern hemisphere as far south as Chicago, Moscow, and London, and all life had migrated toward the equator. This deadly ice had gripped Earth for about 50,000 years.

Ice ages are also times of dry winds and drought, as cold oceans and cold, dry atmospheres produce little evaporation or precipitation. Great deserts like the Sahara and the Gobi expand, and wind-blown dust fills the skies and rivers.

So, ummm, wouldn't ya think that someone might be studying what happens that these flash freezes happen so quickly that those species were flash frozen in place? Guess not. More worried about the tourists in Miami Beach I suppose.

In the history of mankind, warm periods have always meant prosperity and the advance of civilization. Cold periods have always brought violent migrations and civilizational collapse.

So just why is it we are trying to make the earth a cold place?

Observe your local 10 day forecast and plan accordingly.

Seems the Left is waking up to the fact the “global warming” scam has run it course and now laying the ground work for the “global cooling” scam coming to replace it.

Not to naracisstic morons. As we been telling you from the start, The SUN, specifically the sun spot cycle, governs the climate on earth.

Don’t ask liberals why they’re opposed to warmer weather.

Its not like it has an adverse impact on human existence.

Still trying to figure out how their obsession with so-called climate change affects me.

Might as well worry all weather. You aren’t going to change it!

That is if you have the need to worry about something.

“Cold periods have always brought violent migrations and civilizational collapse.”
“So just why is it we are trying to make the earth a cold place?”

Because you can’t advance a communist takeover without violence and collapse of government.

Good point. Cooling is much more dangerous than warming.

Real climate change is inevitable and we should make efforts to prepare for sudden changes. Increases in violent storms, floods, crop failure etc. are more likely with either warming or cooling. All it takes is one huge volcano or solar flare to cause massive disruptions.

Henkster, take care to not let your id get loose.

I’ve always been sad that I could not have a pet trilobite. They really were pretty cute little buggers. A few in a tank could be quite interesting, I bet. I wonder if they were nice or nasty in temperament?

Somewhere along the way Al Gore and the socialist left figured out, since climate is global climate change would be an ideal tool to advance global control of every nation, while squashing nationalism sentiment in the process.

I think what happened with AlGore is, after he lost the election in 2000, he started pigging out. Concerned for his health, a friend gave him crayons and a Global Warming coloring book.

He had an epiphany and went from there.

I only get concerned when local RADAR reports a tornado heading my way - or a hurricane...they are real and they are “right now”.....weather predictions try for a 10 day window and they usually change about 10 times during that window ... hard to get excited about claims that “by the end of this century....”

I would be very interested in knowing exactly what percentage of the past million years saw an ice sheet over greenland. In other words, if you picked a random year from now to 1,000,000 BC, would Greenland be more or less likely to be covered with ice, as it largely is today.

I can wholeheartedly agree with this. I've always wondered why a creature that survived as long as it did finally collectively kicked the bucket. When I was a kid I had a couple of fossils of them. Have no idea what happened to them over the years.
