You ever hear of the “Sugar War”? The Pittsburgh Mob figured out during Prohibition, if you controlled the sugar, you control the market.

Back then Welch’s grape juice made a thing called Welch’s Bar

Non descript package, Size of a bar of soap.
It was sugar and yeast.
