“or Buddhism 109 - I don’t understand how he got such good ratings, which, might I add, are a major reason I took this class. Granted, his tests and papers are easy and he’s an simple grader, but his lectures are unbearable. First, he reads all of it off a piece of paper. Also, he is NON NEGOTIABLE. Even if he admits he’s wrong, he refuses to change the grade. Moreover, he’s extremely opinionated, likes to cuss simply because it’s “cool” (often citing his former party boy days to get students to like him), and gets on a different soap-box rant every class. I can handle them sometimes, but he constantly insults America and usually goes over the line. For instance, he had the audacity and sheer ignorance to say that 9/11 was a government conspiracy and that America basically deserved it (basing all of this ludicrous argument off of Zizke). Furthermore, he often degrades Christian beliefs (I’m not even Christian and I got offended). If you try to argue these thoughts, he’ll shut you down in some illogical manner. Unless you hold the same views, don’t put yourself through this class. I think I have an ulcer from the constant frustration I experienced thanks to him. I know a lot of people in my class hold my idea of Whitaker, so just be warned.”
