Embassy statement claims there is 'no evidence of any chemical attack in Douma' after Israel accused Bashar Assad's government of 'crimes against humanity'
...
The Russian Embassy in Israel on Tuesday said the Israeli condemnation of what Moscow called a "fake chemical attack" in Syria was "a hasty conclusion."
Israel on Monday strongly condemned the chemical attack in eastern Ghouta and accused the Syrian government of "crimes against humanity."
"The Embassy notes with concern a hasty conclusion made in Israel in regard to the fake chemical attack in Douma, a suburb of Damascus, on April 7, 2018," read the embassy statement released Tuesday. "The truth is that there is no evidence of any chemical attack in Douma at all."
Also Tuesday, Israeli officials said Russia had summoned Israel's ambassador to Moscow for a conversation on the attack of the Syrian air base that and which Russia said Israel was behind.

According to Russian media:
Russia does not dope their athletes.
Russia does not poison spies and dissidents.
Russia does not have a permanent war going in East Ukraine.
Russia does not have private mercenaries stationed in Syria and all death toll numbers are ‘fabricated.’
But Russia does have real elections.
And we all know that radical islamists don’t fake attacks to help their causes...
You don’t find it a bit odd that it’s always a “false flag” when an event puts Russia in a bad light? Every. Single. Time.
Russia allies with governments far more powerful than ISIS: Iran, Turkey, to name a few...but ok take Iran’s side.
Do I? Sure. But I also know that these folks have a penchant for faking attacks to change the narrative and get world sympathy. Either way, it’s not worth American lives.
The only side I take is America’s. That’s the only side our government should be concerned with.
Russia does not have private mercenaries stationed in Syria and all death toll numbers are fabricated.
Those are not mercs. They are GRU troops like Putin used in the invasion of Ukraine. Putin doesn’t want to escalate right now in Syria. He sends troops with no uniforms so when the USAF blows up a bunch of them he has deniability.

Zakharova said that a possible U.S. missile strike could be an attempt to destroy evidence of an alleged chemical weapon attack in the Syrian town of Douma.

First off I don’t think any of this will escalate. Secondly, even if it did...it wouldn’t be America’s fault. The problem is Russia is filling in and playing Neo-Con extraordinaires instead - attempting to rebuild their empire as much as is physically possible.
Yet notice how you reserve all your criticism for America, let alone America under Trump.
And eventually our ally Israel gets thrown into the fray.
Unless you’re someone who believes we shouldn’t stand by Israel.
Then perhaps we should give Middle East over to the whims of Iran and Assad then. Plus the Palestine minded. You act as if they only would stay put in their countries if left alone. Fat chance.
I believe we should worry about America and American lives. Israel is America’s friend when it benefits Israel, did you forget about the USS Liberty or Jonathan Pollard? Show me the national interest in American involvement in a Syrian Civil War. I haven’t criticized America, I’ve criticized politicians wasting American blood and money, in places we had no business being in. The Russians are a hell of a lot geographically closer to this region and have pseudo Islamic republics on their border.
Yes but eventually the interests will collide. Their moves in Ukraine were designed to destabilize Europe period. Not just ‘reunite’ old territory. Otherwise they would have stopped with Crimea ans not remain as they do to this day within Ukraine’s mainland borders.
Same thing goes for Middle East. If you actually watched Russian media and read Putin’s speeches, you’d know he spends all his time talking about the West and America — not ISIS.
And when that day comes, you deal with it. But getting involved in a conflict, where our options are: Align with a dictatorial regime or Align with radical Islamists, is a crappy choice. We did once that with Muj in Afghanistan and it brought us AQ. No thanks.
Syrian conflict is more complex than Assad vs. Rebels. America is looking out for itself, planning to leave, and avail to Israel should they call.
I actually think the Russians staged the latest antic there just after Trump announced troops pullout on purpose. Its them inviting the aggression not the other way around.
In the end, strip away all the bluster and it’s really about Assad vs Rebels. We can talk complexities, influence and geopolitical strategy, but if Assad is deposed, what follows? Everywhere in the world, in the last 50 years, every time in the Middle East a strong man is deposed, what have we ended up with? The Shah led to Khomeini, Saddam led to years of bloodshed and on and on. Are the Russians worse than the Islamic fundamentalists?
Israel: “Let’s you and him fight”.
It worked in 2003, and we’re certainly stupid enough to fall for it again.
