Moscow will shoot down any U.S. missiles fired at Syria and retaliate against American launch sites, the Russian ambassador to Lebanon has warned.

Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin made the comments on Tuesday while speaking on the Hezbollah-affiliated al-Manar TV channel, Reuters reported.

President Donald Trump is currently considering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following Saturday’s suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma near the capital city of Damascus. Medical relief groups say the attack killed dozens of civilians.

Eisenhower was a great President and not just because he understood the what he termed the Military-Industrial Complex, but because he loved God, America, the Constitution and the Founders.

Because most of those banging the drums of war have no stake in it. They never served or have children serving now. Or their loyalty is not to this country. It’s disgraceful.

I’m at a complete loss why so many here are thirsty for more war. We have no stake in Syria; that is the rooskies partner and backyard, not ours.

Put Putin in his place in the wreckage that is Syria and his threats against Poland and the Baltics where we DO care are very much diminished.

To clarify

Syria Says Russia will destroy launch Assets, and so far Russia has not disavowed their support for this, that's the P-800 Yakhont and Russian sub & supersonic cruise missiles and Russian Aircraft (all Thermonuclear capable), to strike "coalition" bases, ships, submarines and aircraft.

Russia said this on at least five different occasions. This probably means the 6th fleet and some US terrorist-training camps in Syria, like At Tanf. May mean US base in Romania too.

The US, UK and France has said they will strike Syrian Military bases.

UK is out; May needs a proof and also the Parliament approval. France is in as of yesterday, Macron promised to allocate on fregate, the rest are busy doing other important work. As of today, he reduced this number, by one. The Israelis are silent.

On the positive side, KSA promised support, so Trump does not stand alone.

Trump taunts Russia, says US military response coming in Syria

Maegan Vazquez and Jennifer Hansler, CNN
April 11, 2018

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump warned Russia on Wednesday that it should “get ready” for a missile strike on Syria, vowing to thwart any missile defenses.

Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria.

Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!”

You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!

PISSING CONTEST!

Well, maybe a good war will get the US back on track....as in waking up the zombies.

I’m one of those parents and a Veteran. Assad is a dictator, but so are the Saudis, Kuwaitis, Jordanians etc. They all commit what the US would call “human rights violations” on a daily basis. But yet, we hold their hands and kiss their cheeks. There is zero American interest here. Had I know Trump would go this direction, I’d have sat home.

I am hoping that we get solid confirmation that this was a gas attack and who did it before doing anything. Who used it, who was it used on, what agent was it and was it a false flag operation?

As for the attack, had Obumbler not drawn the line in the sand I would be asking is this a national security threat to the US or Israel? Idiot set up Trump to have to defend that line when he wouldn’t or it would have made Trump look weak as well. Do we really want a shooting war with Russia over Syria? Is it in our national security interest. There are things were fighting for, but is this one of them? Unfortunately Obumbler may have made that choice already with his big mouth, he truly is the gift that keeps on giving to our enemies in foreign policy...

In the case where the risk is nuclear holocaust, our own existence would have to be on the line for it to be any less than insane to consider running that risk.

Hell, if that bomb isn’t headed to a US military base, McLame would not have anything to do with it. Damned near sinking USN aircraft carriers is pretty much his military expertise...

As for the base abandoning him if he does this ... yeah. Sure. We all LIKE to see little children choking to death. How DARE he try and stop such a thing!

I don't know...Is it any worse that seeing kids with their arms and legs and heads blown off???

One story is that those kids were collateral damage (if this event really happened) while Assad was targeting Obama and McCain's Al Qaeda (the US supported Rebels) who are notorious for raping the kids and their mothers, before killing them...

If those kids were collateral damage by ripping their bodies apart with bombs then that's ok??? We'll mind our own business then???

War is a messy business...I'm against attacking Syria since it won't change a thing and we don't know if there's any truth to the story...I won't blindly follow anyone but I'm in for Trump for the long haul...

Thanks mvonfr, I was unaware that Russia had confirmed that the Syrian Ambassador was accurately repeating their position.

I was also unaware that the UK was "out", I assume this to mean that the UK Military will not fly aircraft or launch missiles attacking Syrian held territory, bases or Military.

Apparently the Limeys have shut up, and we have to wait to see what the Frogs do.

Our troops should be in Mexico going after the Cartels, rather than be in Syria.

LOL, we didn't qualify, so we're already boycotting.

The last Chechen-delivered bomb was at the Boston Marathon.

And the Russians tried to warn the US about them, but they didn't listen.
