Undoubtedly. But the void will at least be partially filled by an armed Korean family opening up a bodega to cash checks behind a window of bullet proof glass and sell liquor, lottery tickets and overpriced convenience food items.
And the 'hood won't like that either.

Most likely they were shoplifted to death.Or burned out somewhere. Or had a high injury/mortality rate for their employees from local predators, either in the store or on the way to/from work.

Or they needed to do some reconstruction and the city council would not let them.
This happens with many old grocery stores.

Most likely they were shoplifted to death. My brother-in-law works at a Walgreens that has an epidemic of shoplifting - all by black "customers". Walgreens will be closing down 600 stores. If the customers aren't paying for the goods, why bother having a store in the area?

"Most likely they were shoplifted to death."The euphemism is "shrinkage" and includes opened drink containers and candy/food wrappers/boxes left by unsupervised children roaming the store.

Tch. It’s “inventory shrinkage.”

That and the crime in the parking lots. Jesse and his pals in black leadership have lots of money. Why don’t they open a grocery store in those areas? Surely they could make a go of it since it’s such a great business opportunity.

In Baltimore during the riots they burned down a new CVS so the neighborhood no longer has a drug store or those jobs.

BINGO, even the small niche stores are. Memphis is a War Zone. Don’t Carry, Don’t go. Like every other DEM run big city. Crime, poverty, filth, disease, fatherless feral teens and drug addicts.
