What a coincidence! The worst blizzard I remember was in western Nebr. in the 70s, about 18” of snow in 12 hours and lots of wind. First week of April.

The worst blizzard I remember was right here where I live in South Carolina in ‘73. Seventeen inches of perfect powder fell here in 24 hours, flakes as big as half dollars and 25 inches fell an hour or two South of here. I spent a year at Keflavik and nine weeks in Chicago in the winter once and never saw anything like it. Some people were stuck on I-95 and I-20 and actually pulled their car seats out of the cars and burned them trying to get warm. Some spent three or four days in gas stations or in the homes of strangers who took pity on them. Fortunately my wife and I, who were newlyweds, were at home with plenty of food and gas heat. Snow removal equipment was brought in from many states and finally cleared the roads, this state just is not equipped to handle something like that.
