Pitbulls are very good dogs when qualified people train them for the work or socialization that suits their temperament. Which means the dog may not be a good choice as a family dog especially around young children or other pets. It may be a great ranch dog running cattle. They may be suitable for a home with older teens.
I would not support a ban but I would support certain measures.
1. Require tagging with a micro chip.
2. Yard that is securely fenced with locks on the gates.
3. Leashes have to be of substantial material same with collars.
4. Warning signs posted on property.
5. Extra licensing fee which will be reduced with proof of training certificate.
