It will spike Suicides as Intractable/Chronic Pain patients find themselves going for somewhat functional to bedridden or wheelchair bound.
And then no one address the side effects of pain medication on the GI tract. Just give orders for Miralax or Linzess.
Having a RUINED GI tract, I can rarely take a opioid, my main pain control is for Fibromyalgia and Neuropathy from a Degenerative Spine. Which just keeps getting worse as there is no surgery or med for it that isn’t ADDICTIVE and full of SIDE EFFECTS. Lyrica/Neurotin were A-Fib ER trips and are very addictive. 13 drug reactions, until Valium was tried. Now the idiots want to take it away. I don’t share, I don’t OD, and I sure as hell don’t leave them out for the grands to get into. 308 Pain Clinics in TN shut down in 1 day, left 66 for entire state.
Nor do they know how to treat these diseases takes a Neurologist.
The maker of OxyContin tried to make it harder to misuse. It may have led to more heroin deaths.

My daughter is 22 and is going the same route. I would trade places in a heartbeat if I could take her pain away. I have RA and live with pain, but Im trying to stay off opioids as long as possible. I cannot take any OTCs because of my RA meds and I rarely sleep due to pain, but I figure the longer I hold out, the longer Ill see some efficacy later.
Its hard when you go from doing everything to not being able to do even little things like walk or sleep. I really wouldnt wish it in anyone, but I hope every one of these bureaucrats contracts a chronic, painful illness. They are truly evil.
That's what they are doing to people. My son has no wife, my GS has no mother basically because she is in so much pain that she barely functions. My GS has severe autism and needs his mommy. His dad, papaw and I do what we can but we aren't mommy.
The worst is the horrible pain that my GS has from his autism. He is only eight and they won't even consider anything for his physical pain.
