Even something as innocuous and common as waiting at Starbucks for a friend

Simple solution. When hanging around in a coffee shop, buy a cup of coffee.

How is there even such a “thing” as a “non-paying customer”?

We aren’t talking about a coupon deal (come in for a free cup) or even a companion for a customer (are we?).

Every barista has seen every trick in the book. Bring in your own food, your own beverage, and camp out for hours.

Speaking in hushed tones to customers asking them for money.

That's common sense when you're occupying a seat placed there for paying customers. Either their mamas didn't teach them simple manners or they ignored her.

Yesterday, I happened upon the Steve Harvey Show when an audience member asked about Starbucks coffee and he made a joke about the two guys (can you say set up?). When he's hosting Family Feud, when a black contestant has an answer that relates to violence he's constantly high fiving them and laughing that that's a 'hood answer. That tells a great deal about black culture.
