Total Failure: Anti-Gun Activists Failing To Energize Young Voters In Florida

On February 14, XXX shot and killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Flroida. It sparked a new gun control surge. The Parkland Three—David Hogg, Cameron Kasky, and Emma Gonzalez—are the point people leading the latest anti-gun charge, which has yielded political dividends. Florida increased the age to purchase firearms to 21 and banned bump stocks, the former provision being legally challenged, as it should, by the National Rifle Association. The NRA has also been targeted. In Vermont, Gov. Phil Scott, who carries an A-rating with the NRA, signed a bill that expands background checks, bans bump stocks, raises the age to purchase firearms to 21, and limited magazine sizes. In Deerfield, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, gun owners are now subject to a $250-$1,000/day fine for non-compliance to the latest ordinance: the banning of owning so-called assault weapons within the village limits. Those are any semiautomatic that carries more than ten rounds and of course, AR-15 rifles. They have to be transferred outside of Deerfield, destroyed, or surrendered to the authorities. New gun control measures used to be contained to blue states. Now, we have GOP governors caving.

David Hogg has inked a new book deal, which has raised eyebrows over its apparent appropriation of the Holocaust remembrance phrase. The Parkland Three promise a new revolution. So, what has come of it? Are young people flocking to swell the voter rolls and give pro-Second Amendment politicians a run for their money? Not really—at least not in the trio’s backyard of Florida, where young voter registration is virtually dead (via Tampa Bay Times):

If these 3 assclowns are "leading" the charge......well now that they've managed to put stern serious looks on their mugs............ Oh, what? Their screed isn't working? Imagine that since "the issue" is NOT the highest priority to a majority of voters.

By getting Republicans to enact modest gun control reforms, the Parkland anti-gun activists helped to take the issue off the table for the 2018 mid-terms.

Its no longer a pressing issue for the American people, who think gun control laws are just right. And beating up on the NRA doesn’t win them brownie points.

Well it sure isn’t stopping the LV city council assclown running for Gov this cycle. Steve sisolak. His platform contains the following “gun safety” comments:

Enough is enough – it’s time for action on gun safety. We have witnessed unthinkable tragedies from Sandy Hook to Pulse Nightclub to 1 October to Parkland, while in communities across the country, guns continue to take lives every day. But until we have the leaders who will take on the gun lobby, nothing will change. Steve will be the leader Nevada needs to reform our gun laws. The Las Vegas 1 October shooting changed Steve forever as it did for so many. Steve has pledged to take on the NRA and immediately enact commonsense gun safety regulations to stop horrific mass violence like we saw here in Las Vegas and prevent dangerous individuals from accessing firearms. That includes implementing the voter-approved background check law as well as banning bump stocks, assault weapons, high-capacity magazines and silencers.

His tv ads are nasty as they can be.

I wondered why they did the protest rallies immediately following the shootings, given the publics short attention span... they peaked much too early.

The Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and four other plaintiffs are suing the state of Vermont over a ban on standard capacity firearm magazines. Meanwhile, we can still purchase any type of magazine we choose until 01 October. I would imagine the numbers present in VT have increased tremendously in the past two weeks.

So, how much will the daily fine be for holding on to them after 10/1? Or are they gran-daddy’d in. Of course they eventual outcome will be——————Turn ‘em Mr. and Mrs. Vermont. Sad to see what’s become the cradle of our country over the years. That being the NE corridor.
