“Nonsense. Every one I know who smokes it heavily cannot or refuses to stop.”

They can stop. They may not want to, but you know some feeble minded morons.

“Anything and everything can be addictive.”

That’s true. Water can be an obsession. But pot, as a chemical, isn’t in itself.

Absolutely agree with you. It brings out what is there lurking already. It’s not a cause, but could be a contributor? Don’t know if it would come out anyway.

“It doesn’t have to be addictive to do long term damage to the brain of an adolescent user.”

We don’t know that. We have yet to perform a scientific study that shows pot caused it or that the person was stupid before.

A rather spurious statistic.

Of the teens whose drug use is bad enough that they are sent to the drug clinic, 9/10 use marijuana too.

Living proof that clams is half nonsense. Refusing to quit, I will agree with. It is not addictive. You can smoke heavily for years and drop it if you want to. Want is the key.

Just because a person thinks it should be legal doesn’t mean they advocate its use.

If you prefer to call it a chemical use disorder, ok by me.

Why should they stop if it's so harmless?

"Unlike many things, “experience” in drug use makes one less of an expert."

Like experience in home security gained from using an AK-47 and pit bulls instead of an AR-15, self-defense insurance, security cameras and a lapdog? ;-)

"Pot isn’t addictive."

It is addictive, as is tobacco, Communism and alcohol, but why should that matter? Banning emotional analgesics is another social experiment that, eventually, will be seen to have failed.

Let the Proles entertain themselves. You can't fix stupid.

“...Over HALF of all adults in the US have smoked it.

10-12% of all adults in the US are current, regular users.

According to CDC.”

Admittedly I am an old guy, in the 80’s, I have lived all over the country, have been constantly employed up into my eighties, married to one woman for 50+ years, am a non-smoker but enjoy may beer, scotch and bourbon. I have been around! And, I don’t believe those statistics at all. I have known hundreds of people from all avenues of life and I can count on my hands the number of people I even suspicioned were smoking marijuana and fewer yet those on harder drugs. I have known the parents of a few, maybe half dozen who have died from opiods in the past 10 years - all well educated, from nice families, in their mid- 20’s to 30’s. -— just saying.

No. The solution is to embed virtue (habits) into your children. Smoking MJ is not virtuous, it destroys agency and impedes the part of brain which makes you rational, which is always really evil and reduces you to dog, where base emotions control your actions.

Your emotions need to be controlled by a rational brain and any drug that destroys your ability to think for yourself and be virtuous is evil and reduces you to cattle (to be herded and controlled by the State).

The promotion of evil to little children is the problem of allowing evil behaviors to be legal. Promotion of vice in Just Laws will destroy civilizations (as Cicero noted) since vice destroys virtue always.

Sodomy is now promoted to little children 24/7 because of “Just Laws” which should be “null and void” in a true “justice” (virtue) system. Starting before kindergarten, now, most children are assaulted with homosexual images, normalizing it, the unnatural, vile behavior which strips humans of meaning and dignity and uses others as a means to an end (which is always evil).

Vice promotion destroys cultures and corrupts the ability of children to be wise—discern between good and evil, and they will believe any irrational cr*- which we see now with little boys “thinking” they are girls. They are totally corrupted, stripped of reason and logic and reduced to non-thinking animal to be a total slave of the state.

Children embed what they see and that is why Montesquieu and our “Justice System” is predicated on ONLY allowing VIRTUE PROMOTION in the culture, since vice destroys cultures and creates slavery.

All Just Laws can only promote “public virtue”—Montesquieu. “Unjust Law (ones promoting evil actions) are null and void”. But that does not mean everything evil has to be written in some “law”. That is why Virtue is essential in people if there is to be freedom. Without virtue in people, there can be no freedom—only chaos-—bunch of drugged-up, lazy people who will have to be controlled by the State. Vice collapses cultures always and why freedom is only possible with virtuous people (people who don’t want to be drugged and slaves). All Founders stated the same and Justice Marshall stated evil “laws” are antithetical to the Constitution and are “null and void”.

Virtue is essential for freedom. As Socrates stated, vice creates slaves-—vice destroys agency (virtue) in people.

I’m sorry, but marijuana is not an addictive substance. This article is pointless, and so is their “treatment”. Outside of enriching those people doing the “treating”, that is.
