Years ago, I was on a flight, not hungry, and dropped the package of peanuts into my jacket pocket. It was a domestic flight, though. Some time later, I fed them to a squirrel.

You're lucky the squirrel wasn't allergic to them. You could have been charged with animal cruelty :-)

Roasted peanuts aren’t a problem. Live plant matter is.
Eaten apples aren’t. Apples with a non-native fungus are a potential problem.
