A caravan of hundreds of Central Americans that has traveled through Mexico over the past month will arrive on the southern U.S. border on Sunday, setting up a showdown at the nation's busiest border crossing as the group turns themselves over to border inspectors seeking asylum.
The group of roughly 200 people, including women and young children, is expected to turn themselves over to border inspectors at San Diego's San Ysidro border crossing around 4 p.m. ET after arriving in Tijuana last week, claiming they have a credible fear of persecution at home. Demonstrators gathered along the border to hold a rally in the hours before crossing over, with some people scaling the fence.
"The only thing I would tell Mr. Trump is to have a conscious and to look at all the people and the way they suffer. Because the people, they are coming from those countries, they are not doing it for pleasure," Osman Salvador Ulla Castro, who is from Honduras, told Fox News. "They face danger and extortions and they are looking for a better life."
The Border Patrol said Saturday that several groups of families from the caravan tried to enter the U.S. illegally by scaling parts of the "dilapidated scrap metal border fence" near San Ysidro.

I live in San Diego — we are large county, 90 miles wide by 70 miles tall, with coastal, inland valley, mountain, and desert areas. It would not be difficult to set up a Sheriff Joe-style tent city in the Anza Borrego and put all of these illegal alien invaders into it while their phony asylum claims are processed and adjudicated. Trailers with cooling units can be made available to the elderly, pregnant, and young children. No releasing into the U.S. with ankle bracelets they immediately remove and disappear into the illegal alien invader diaspora. Thirty or 60 days baking & freezing in the desert will get right their thinking. Next, cancel NAFTA immediately and stop any and all foreign aid to Mexico and countries with which they are in league. Third, build the wall now; use the DoD and a slice of its manpower and budget to do so (Army, Air Force, Marine engineers and Navy SeaBees).
Meanwhile some of the caravan have already entered illegally. I googled, and confirmed by LAT, San Diego Union-Tribune, local FOX.

They are supposed to seek assylum at the first country they reach.. Mexico isn’t good enough? They want Americans to provide them with a windfall of Free Stuff. What is the percentage of legitimate refugees? We never hear that statistic.. It’s very low, I’m sure.
