Thank you Texas, you’ve come to the plate again! What a great state! Hope people moving from California don’t mess it up!

The system is clearly broken. Everyone can sue in any district and get judgements that change laws for the whole country. There is no clear delineation in terms of who can do what. To the extent that there are clear mandates (DACA and immigration being obvious examples) they are ignored by judges without consequence (When was the law judge to be impeached by the Congress?). Yup, the system is definitely broken

From your link....

...Texas had threatened the lawsuit last year, saying that it would file if President Trump didn’t end the Obama-era program. Mr. Trump complied, announcing a six-month phaseout.

That phaseout has been blocked by courts who say he cut too many corners.
That flummoxed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who says the original DACA program was illegal in the first place.

“Texas has argued for years that the federal executive branch lacks the power to unilaterally grant unlawfully present aliens lawful presence and work authorization,” Mr. Paxton said in filing the lawsuit. “Left intact, DACA sets a dangerous precedent by giving the executive branch sweeping authority to ignore the laws enacted by Congress and change our nation’s immigration laws to suit a president’s own policy preferences.”

How is an illegal EO even accepted as law of the land, to begin with???

The unwashed masses are rising up against their betters.

Good.

And sormewhere, a former president of dubious heritage seeths in silent roiling rage at the unraveling of his "legacy".

Texas should also ban in-state tuition for illegals. Take that, Rick.

From the article: Josh Blackman, a professor at the South Texas College of Law, suggested the administration may decide not to defend DACA at all.

This could be an interesting case. A few years back Proposition 8 in California banned gay marriage and it was challenged in court with the lower court finding it unconstitutional. Although it was the state that lost, they refused to appeal. When the organization that initiated the Proposition tried to carry forth the appeal, they were denied on the grounds that they had no standing as the state was the loosing party and appeal was their decision alone. While it was a state case, the federal courts refused to overturn it.

It would be fun to watch the liberals ploy used against them in this case.

Texas, six other states sue Trump administration to force an end to DACA

They should not be suing Trump, they should be suing the judges who ruled against Trump ending DACA.
