I hope you understood the joke behind, “how long have you been on FR.” As in, even this place has plenty of cranks and misfits.
A German colleague, nice guy, smart guy, once told me “We understand your position on Israel, the Jews basically control your media”...
I explained to him that the Jews are a tiny minority. Its evangelical Christians who are devoted to Israel. No politician can get elected without at least pretending to back Israel, because the evangelical Christians won’t stand for it.
I think the whole concept mystified him.
