Different times. Most Conservatives then didn’t understand the true nature of the GOP. It was trusted as the “at least they aren’t Democrats” party. But they showed their true Progressive colors when we handed them Congress and they chose to back Obama. Then Trump forced them all the way out of the closet, with McCain being fully outed as a communist Fellow Traveler.

Same here. When I discovered that the Progressive Movement was started by Republicans, I began to dig and found that the history of the 20th century was largely the dismantling of American freedom for the construction of the Human Farm and the GOP and Democrats worked together on the project.
McCain doesn’t deserve this much attention.

War hero???? He was an Navy Ace. He destroyed more US Navy aircraft than the North Vietnamese Air Force. Now that’s a hero? He did zilch as a POW, it was Stockton who was the leader. The comment by one of the POWs was McCain was the only one in interment who came out weighing more than when he went in. Maybe the Vietnamese did us a favor by keeping him, thus saving American lives. I’m sure the Vietnamese in Hanoi have his name on the honor roll along with Fonda and the purple heart collector Kerry.
