North Korea has scheduled a “ceremony” to dismantle its nuclear on May 23-25 ahead of President Donald Trump’s summit with leader Kim Jong Un next month, state media said Saturday.

North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said Saturday that all the tunnels at the country’s northeastern testing ground will be destroyed by explosion and that observation and research facilities and ground-based testing units will also be removed. The dramatic and symbolic event is part of the Hermit Kingdom’s pledge to discontinue nuclear tests.

Kim went to China a few weeks ago, it was a surprise visit and no doubt the Chinese told fat boy to get his act together or else. NK is China’s puppet but the Chicoms don’t want a clown puppet that blows radiation into China. So they told him to sue for peace with South Korea. Trumps aggressiveness has put double pressure on Kim and frightened him as well and so here we are

Well yes but the optics will help our side so fine. I just hope we aren’t being hoodwinked, Trump has a lot of chips on the table.

Trump is in a strong win/win situation.

Everybody including China knows that if North Korea does not essentially capitulate, Trump will walk away.

Kim will be thrown a face saving bone but it will be after capitulation or no deal.

If Kim is smart, he will go into Idi Amin like exile.

They probably figure that they’ve trashed that mountain and would need to find another site elsewhere.

Hey, everyone, lighten up. Bush was responsible for Obama’s bad economy for 6 years, so why can’t Obama get credit for Trump’s foreign policy successes? After all, Obama IS a Nobel Prize laureate.

All those years “leading from behind” are finally bearing fruit, you see.

[sarcasm off ... sometimes it’s really hard to write this B.S.]

Burying evidence before inspectors come in? Covering up for stuff that they are hiding elsewhere?

Everything that the inspectors seek to account for, just happens to have been buried in that mountain, too contaminated to examine...

In any event, it is a strong indicator that they plan to go ahead with a deal of some sort.

With Kim it’s nothing more than a moving sale. North Korea would sell just about anything to anyone, so in that sense they’re a very large proliferation threat.

The thing that has constrained the threat from North Korea in recent years has been that only Syria seemed interested in developing a North Korean-like reactor. Everybody else was going the uranium route that the Khan network had promoted.

But now that North Korea is in that business, I’m quite worried that North Korea’s procurement network will be put at the service of other countries. And Iran, released from the nuclear race block by Obama and Clinton by the unauthorized treaty with Iran, has received a bunch of funds from the formerly frozen accounts all over the world and has admitted to being in the market for the race again. And Kim hasn’t told the truth in the last 20 years.

Here is an excellent article from National Re4view on the topic:

BINGO, We have a winnah, give the man a Cupie Doll. This whole thing is another giant charade in order to extort billions of dollars from the west and Asia in order to prop up little rocket boy's failed hermit kingdom and to keep fat boy rolling in luxury goods, alcohol and designer drugs while he habitually brutalizes his poor, terrified, starving people.

In the mean time he already has successfully tested nukes in reserve, along with missiles and all the accoutrements necessary to launch them well hidden away so that when the Kate st blackmail billions run out, he will start threatening the world all over again AFTER President Trump leaves office.

The Kims have been successfully using this exact same playbook ever since they took power. We are suckers if we think anything else is going on.

Nothing is going to really change unless and until rocket boy is lined up against a wall and shot!

Here’s what I think happened. Kim’s nuclear test site collapsed, killing many of his scientists and destroying his nuclear program. He doesn’t have the money to rebuild his facilities nor will anyone give it to him. Some radiation leaked out and crossed into China. Kim was summoned to Beijing and was told enough is enough, if you want to stay alive stop the rhetoric, stop the testing, make peace. If you do we will support you, let you remain in power, and let your country make lots of money by following our example. If you don’t we will get rid of you and replace you with someone who will do what he’s been told to do.
That’s all just speculation, of course.

Not sure what there is to dismantle at this point. Didn’t Mount Mantap collapse in on itself after the Nork’s last nuclear test killing dozens/hundreds of their nuclear scientists?

Lets see if I have this right.

Kim has a bunch of nukes hidden, and when all the ceremonies are over and he blows up his test sites, Kim is going to turn around and nuke the U.S.?

Do I have this right?

China’s end game is the reclamation of Tawain. China is willing to let North Korea reunify with the South and become their problem. After that, inducements and pressure will be applied to encourage the island to rejoin the mainland.

It's already changed. It just doesn't fit your crumbling projection. And each step of the way you can keep moving to goal posts. Such as you stating now Kim must be lined up against the wall and shot before you consider this a success for Trump, the U.S. and the world.

Bull s**t.
