I say things like, "I'm fortunate to have very good health," and "Just doing the best we can with what we have to work with."
The Offspring help with remarks like, "At least I'm not (a convicted felon/a single mother/a drug addict) like (fill in name)."
And I say something like that to others who tell me I did a great job with the kids.
I say "At least I'm they're not (a convicted felon/a single mother/a drug addict) like (fill in name)."
FWIW, I guess I did a good job cause none of them are those things and all three are gainfully employed, working on their masters, and one going for her PhD.
