The Irish Aren't Red-Headed Mexicans

In an interview with NPR last Friday, Trump's chief of staff John Kelly described the illegal aliens pouring across our border in the most gentle manner imaginable.

He said that illegal aliens aren't "bad people," but also "not people that would easily assimilate into the United States into our modern society." They are, he continued, mostly rural, poor, unskilled and illiterate. "They don't speak English," Kelly said. "Obviously, that's a big thing."

Kelly violated the civic religion of treating every non-American as better than an American -- a potential valedictorian, Medal of Honor winner and Nobel Prize recipient. Naturally, he was called a "racist."

So what was the point? You're going to be called a "racist" no matter what you say, so why not be honest: Illegals are self-entitled law-breakers and thieves, stealing jobs and government benefits meant for our own people.

Our cliche-driven media huffed and puffed about Kelly's presumed descent from immigrants.

CNN's Don Lemon said, "But like most Americans, Kelly comes from a family of immigrants, doesn't he?"

If you'd read "Adios, America!" Don, you'd know this is PC nonsense. As late as 1990 -- a quarter-century into Teddy Kennedy's plan to remake our nation into a Third World hellhole -- half of the population traced its roots to the Americans of 1790. We're a real country, made up of the people who created it, much like other countries.

Maybe, maybe not. But once the Irish were here, they had to assimilate. And there was no welfare. Things are different now.

“By the 1950s, the Irish were outearning other Americans.”

Largely because they took over the civil service of most big cities. My one time Irish mother in law once told me growing up in the depression era NYC the choices for jobs were cop, fireman, bartender, priest or gangster, and at one time she had as least one brother doing each. The gangster brother ran numbers for a while then became a fireman.

My Grandfather came from Italy in the early 20th century, he came as a mine safety inspector. When he came to Pennsylvania, he worked in the mines, learned English and built 8 homes before moving to the copper mines of Minnesota, where he built 10 homes. If the rumor is true 15 of the homes are still standing. One was incorperated into another house, one was torn down for a highway (in the 1960s) and one was destroyed by fire/flood (Hurricane Agnes)

The Indians travelled here from Siberia and we’re all from Africa, so what’s the problem?

What hard working, hardy people immigrants often are! And most of them would work their fingers to the bone, before they’d take a dime of welfare. The good ones appreciate the ability that America gives them to have their hard work rewarded with success, something many cannot achieve in their native lands.

All my ancestors were already here before the Revolution. Many were English and came here over a decade before the vaunted Mayflower, to Jamestown Virginia. Others were later in the 1600’s. A few came as late as the early 1700’s, German-speaking from the Palatinate, areas that would be in modern-day France, etcetera. Not an immigrant in the bunch. All of them were Original Citizens with the exception of the few Cherokee, and they were here well before any English settlers or attempted settlements.

This “nation of immigrants” thing is nonsense, intended to deflect any criticism of modern immigration policy which has been just bizarre since 1965, utterly counterproductive to a prosperous and self-sufficient populace. It’s as if we want to drag our nation down by taking on all the unproductive people of the world, i.e. future Democrats.

Let's check with the American Indians what the effects of completely unlimited immigration has on a culture.

Gee this is a tough one.
My ancestors were related to Columbus so do I qualify?
Also, in the article, she says the Italians brought organized crime to America.
News flash Ann: there was already organized crime here in America doing the same types of crimes the Mob does (gambling, prostitution, loan sharking, alcohol, drugs, all victimless crimes of choice).
But I guess the Italians did it more efficiently and the US government must have taken lessons from them
