The real cause of school shootings
Pubmed ^ | Jan 2006 | Pubmed

This is the cause behind the increase of school shootings. “We know that SSRI treatment can trigger mood changes in undiagnosed young bipolar patients resulting in agitation and disinhibition, and such effects may lead to suicide and violence.”

That is, of course, not conclusive but it does suggest.

I’ve been writing and speaking on the connection between these Zombie drugs and mass shootings for years.

All anyone has to do is browse thru the YouTubes videos on psychotropic drugs.

But there is another contributor to these: The shooters have another common denominator: a feeling of isolation...lost in the crowd.

Schools have become too large. There’s no feeling of community, of belonging. It needs to go back to smaller, community schools where teachers and others can be aware of individual students and keep problems from slowly building to the explosion point...AND parents can be more involved, not shut out - which is what the consolidation of schools was really about - isolating the parents.

A big first step, a BIG one, is to administer daily sunshine in the summer in these latitudes and vitamin D3 supplements when the sun is at a low angle and folks are all covered up too stay warm.

Liberals. They’re the ones doing all the shootings.

Never were disciplined as children, so now they’re acting out and throwing temper tantrums using guns.

without the "Bullying" I seriously doubt that these "misfits" would go on a vengeful rampage.

Were you ever a kid? Kids are notoriously ruthless with each other. Its part of how they're wired. Few, if any, grow up without experiencing teasing, rejection, fights, arguments, pettiness, meanness, etc.

I don't know about you, but I dealt with all of that and more, growing up, and I never reacted to it by retaliating against my rivals with deadly force.

Such things were never heard of in my generation. The only thing that has changed, is the now common, and widespread use of powerful, mind altering psych drugs to 'manage' our children's behavior.

Stop prescribing these psychotropic drugs and watch these school shootings plummet like a stone.

“Only when schools start to take bullying seriously will they begin to address this problem.”

Young people have bullied each other since day one without turning each other into psychopathic killers.

There are a whole slew of other causes: drugs, games, entertainment, search for fame, no religious training, cowardice, etc.

I think social media and the ubiquitous smart phone has a huge alienating effect as well. I think everyone thought that by exposing their daily lives to strangers, friends, and family it would be this really cool connecting thing. Seems like it almost does the opposite, at least what with the conflict and bullying that comes with it among the teenage and younger set.

Also, people now look at screens more than they do to the faces of their family and friends. This used to be limited to TV and home computers. You had look at people when you were away from the TV. Now people are cellborgs walking into traffic or sitting with a date looking at screens.

Yes. I remember in the 1940’s when the schools in Portland Oregon were much smaller and multi-storied. Kids walked a few blocks to school back then. There were way less than a dozen teachers. Everyone knew everyone and the teachers knew the parents as well as the kids.

But, what’s the good of nostalgia?

Maybe we oldsters in the middle of our dotage can ignite a little hope.

I smell revolt in the air, and it is very inspiring.

And with smaller schools and more community I believe there will be less need for psychotropic drugs.

Thank you for your comment about good parenting and church. That’s absolut3ly the root of the problem.

Now, SSRI’s can lower inhibitions in a person, bu5 my guess is that the person is on the wrong med for the stated condition. If the med isn’t helping, then that med isn’t needed.

People lashing out in anger like that have many issues going on. Gun control isn’t the problem, self control is.

The corruption and dissolution of church and home is definitely at the heart of this kind of lunacy.

But it seems (not entirely unrelated) that there is always the hint of bullying going on the schools, starting way back with Columbine.

This is not to deflect blame from the murderers. It just sounds as though in most cases there is no family, few friends, and a long period of increasing derangement before the evil outs.

It also usually sounds like the school kids are well aware of the class loser and his spooky solitude. How is it possible that the teachers don’t see it too?

The real cause of these school shootings is the MSM, including FOX, plastering the name of the shooter all over the place.

I posted this on the Q thread as greeneyes was discussing this......

More info I have had on these drugs for years as I had a family member that took her life due to anti-depressants, the warning for the drug she was taking was announced 5 months after she died.

I myself do not understand why this is not investigated with these kids that are killers.

It's long, but you'll find it fascinating. I promise.

With all due respect, I don't buy the "Bullying" excuse. When the Left talks about bullying, they are using the term in an Orwellian fashion. They usually use the word to describe Christians and others who disapprove of homosexuality. Disapproval = Bullying. It's nonsense. It isn't bullying.

"Large schools" doesn't fly either. I graduated from HS in the mid-60's. We had 2,000 students in three grades. No such problems. And like others, we had a shooting team, who never shot anyone. We had students from blue-collar families and students from white-collar families. All of the students were white, and we had a dress-code.

The dress-code is important. I'm not aware that any of these school schootings have ocurred in schools where uniforms or uniformity are required. This ties in with "Bullying". Today, students seem to be allowed to dress in any manner, including clothing and hairstyles that invite ridicule from other students. Many of these shooters appear to have intentionally adopted an appearance that led to ridicule; ie - bullying.

Certainly, the Psychotropic Drugs are a huge contributor, and the rationale behind the Rx meds is diagnosing boys with made-up ailments that simply amount to boys acting like boisterous boys, rather than acting like passive girls. Ironically, giving depressed people anti-depressants makes them depressed, And homicidally-aggressive. Yeah, that seems to be working well.

The shooters are almost exclusively Democrats or the children of Democrats. Remember, "Liberalism is a mental disorder" isn't just a catchy saying.

So... crazy Democrats on drugs, who often chose to make themselves look like weirdos, so they could be ridiculed or "bullied" They usually used firearms that didn't belong to them, and if they did own the gun, they never should have been able to pass a background check. But they did pass because somebody didn't do their job in reporting disqualifying information.

And the schools. And the local "Law Enforcement". These two might even be the larger part of the problem. In a previous career, I went into ghetto schools on the South side of Chicago, during school hours. Some of these schools were located in the middle of notorious housing projects, where various gangs squared off against each other constantly. There were never any shootings INSIDE these schools, although local gang-bangers really would have liked to get in and take out some rivals. The schools weren't pretty because the doors were covered with thick opaque material, were alarmed, covered by security cameras, and only opened from the inside. In other words, unless you went in the front door, you weren't getting in. And the front door looked like the other doors, but one of them opened from the outside. Upon opening the door you were looking at a bunch of armed, scary-looking dudes in uniforms, who immediately wanted to know who you were and why you were there. Visitors AND students. You had to go through metal detectors, xray scanners for your belongings, hand wands for anything that set off the metal detectors, and of course, you had to get past the very-suspicious scary-looking dudes. Suburban school boards don't want their schools to look like this, but it works. Open, gun-free zones don't work. And policies that prevent reporting of criminal behaviour to law-enforcement is suicidal.

Law-Enforcement. Maybe they should go back to being "Cops" and act like it. The reported deficiencies in this arena are simply mind-boggling. PC rules and CYA procedures are dangerous. Today's LEO's want all the bad-ass looking military style clothing and equipment, but they don't seem to want to adopt a military-style attitude of "running toward the sound of the guns". Maybe hire a different kind of person? Clearly, this is a huge part of the problem, and probably the hardest to fix. Voters need to elect better people to be Police Chiefs and Sheriffs. Other than that, pray.

Last point. Are these shooting being manipulated to happen? It's to the point where you don't have to be a paranoid cynic to wonder. It could be, but it is more likely that Liberal policies have created a "Perfect Storm" where these shootings are totally predictable. Ask yourself the horrible question, "Who, if anyone, benefits from these shootings?" The answer is, "The Totalitarians who want to bring America down." IOW; all enemies, foreign and domestic. Domestic = Democrats and other Marxists.

I hope that you did not take my first reply personally Windflier.
I was trying to make a brief point without going on a rant. Yes I was bullied in High School and I stood my ground.
Years later I met some of those who bullied me and they told respected me for that.
I whole hardly agree with you that there are more issues today than those we had to deal with.
However, that being said the simplest course of action, IMHO would be to try and remove the triggering factor.
I could go on but I don’t wish to bore you any longer.

And just one question for you.
Sailplanes or Hang Gliders?

I was never a pilot, but between those two, I would have chosen hang gliders.
