Cambridge professor outed as FBI informant inside Trump campaign
The New York Post ^ | May 19th, 2018 | By Mary Kay Linge

Posted on 05/19/2018 8:47:47 PM PDT by Mariner

A Cambridge professor with deep ties to American and British intelligence has been outed as an agent who snooped on the Trump presidential campaign for the FBI.

Multiple media outlets have named Stefan Halper, 73, as the secret informant who met with Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos starting in the summer of 2016. The American-born academic previously served in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations.

The revelation, stemming from recent reports in which FBI sources admitted sending an agent to snoop on the Trump camp, heightens suspicions that the FBI was seeking to entrap Trump campaign aides. Papodopoulous has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, while Page was the subject of a federal surveillance warrant.

“If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal,” President Trump tweeted Saturday, calling for the FBI to release additional documents to Congress.

The Halper revelation also shows the Obama administration’s FBI began prying into the opposing party’s presidential nominee earlier than it previously admitted.

Halper’s sit-downs with Page reportedly started in early July 2016, undermining fired FBI Director James Comey’s previous claim that the bureau’s investigation into the Trump campaign began at the end of that month.

Looking even at a superficial Wikipedia rundown of his background, he is NOT the kind of operative you might expect could be enlisted to help bring down Trump. But blink again and look it over a second time, and it’s clear he’s willing to play both sides of the fence. Further proof that regardless of political labels, Halper’s association with Clinton indicates that Clinton was always a Globalist-—he has on the surface, a “positive” history of operations with Reagan and Oliver North, and then functions as an operative on the “other side” of the political fence. Basically, he’s proof that ALL these guys are duplicitous, and as you put it, either behind Door #1 or Door #2-—maybe and probably BOTH.

When Susan Rice stupidly wrote a CYA memo to herself, she inadvertently confessed to a series of crimes that added the time line and inferences about what the outgoing Obama administration illegally concealed from incoming President Trump and his aides. CYA memos are rarely a good idea. Most often, they reveal things the author never intended——ala Susan Rice’s now-infamous email to herself.

powerlineblog.com

WHY SUSAN RICE WROTE AN EMAIL TO HERSELF........the extraordinary email Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote to herself at 12:15 on January 20, 2017........within minutes of President Trump’s inauguration must have been her last act, more or less, before she vacated the White House. So obviously the email was important to her. But why would it be important to send an email to herself (the only person copied was one of her aides)?

If you read the email, along with Senator Grassley’s letter to Rice, it is obvious that it is a CYA memo. But the question is, whose A is being C’d?

Most attention, so far, has focused on the first two paragraphs of the email, which describe a meeting that occurred around two weeks earlier.

The participants included
<><>Barack Obama,
<><>Joe Biden,
<><>James Comey,
<><> Sally Yates–who turns up like a bad penny whenever skulduggery is afoot–
<><>and Rice:

Rice made sure to underscore that Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book”. Rice writes Obama stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.

This is pure boilerplate.

It represents, obviously, the company line. But Rice did not write her email to cover Barack Obama’s rear end. If she or
anyone else had wanted to document the claim that Obama said to proceed “by the book,” the appropriate course would have been an official memo that copied others who were present and would have gone into the file. (My guess is that such a memo was written, but we haven’t seen it.)

The important part of the email is not the paragraph that purports to exonerate Obama, but the paragraphs that follow: “From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.”

The next paragraph of the email remains classified and has been redacted. The email concludes:
The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.

CONCLUSION Why did Susan Rice send herself an email purporting to document this part of the meeting? Because she was C’ing her own A. Rice was nervous about the fact that, at the president’s direction, she had failed to “share information fully as it relates to Russia” with President Trump’s incoming national security team.

Her actions violated longstanding American tradition. Outgoing administrations have always cooperated in the transition to a new administration, whether of the same or the opposing party, especially on matters relating to national security.

Susan Rice is far from the brightest bulb on the tree, but she was well aware that by concealing facts ostensibly relating to national security from her counterpart in the new administration–General Michael Flynn–she was, at a minimum, violating longstanding civic norms.

If she actually lied to Flynn, she could have been accused of much worse. So Rice wanted to be able to retrieve her email, if she found herself in a sticky situation, and tell the world that she hid relevant facts about Russia from the
new administration on Barack Obama’s orders.

What were the secrets that Obama wanted to keep from the new administration? We can easily surmise that the fact that the Steele memo was paid for by the Democratic Party; that the FBI had to some degree collaborated with Steele; that the Clinton campaign had fed some of the fake news in the dossier to Steele; and that Comey’s FBI had used Steele’s fabrications as the basis for FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign were among the facts that Obama and his minions didn’t want Michael Flynn and Donald Trump to know. Susan Rice, we can infer, was told to keep these secrets, and if anyone ever asked why she had failed to disclose them to Michael Flynn and others on Trump’s team, or even lied to those people, she would have the defense that President Obama ordered her to do it.

There may be more to it than this. The redacted paragraph likely contains more information about what it was that Rice wasn’t supposed to tell the Trump team. One of these days, we will learn what was blacked out.
The fact that Michael Flynn was Susan Rice’s counterpart in the incoming administration may also be significant. We know that the FBI agents who interviewed General Flynn–even Peter Strzok!–reported that they didn’t think he had lied about anything.

And yet, Obama’s DOJ and Bob Mueller’s “investigation”–basically a continuation of Obama’s corrupt Department of Justice under another, less accountable name–persecuted Flynn to the point where he finally pled guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI in order, as he says, to end the madness and the financial drain.

Why were the Democrats so determined to discredit General Flynn? Perhaps because they wanted to pre-empt any outrage that may otherwise have followed on revelations that the Obama administration’s National Security Advisor hid important facts from her successor during the transition, and may have lied to him about those facts, in violation of all American tradition.

Trump knows the Deep State CAN be extinguished.......b/c really, they’re not that smart. Susan Rice proved that in one memo.

If they were as smart as they think they are, “sure-thing” Hillary would have won.

IMHO, Obama’s CYA maneuver of January 3, 2017-——the signing
of NSA Data-Sharing Order Section 2.3 by AG Lynch. ——could be the coupe d’etat to blow out The Deep State. Obama’s after-the-fact ex/order contains some unusual language particularly the convoluted language WRT “The Strategic Delay of Section 2.3 of Obama’s Executive Order 12333”:

NOTE WELL: Prior to the formal signing of Section 2.3, greater latitude existed within the White House in regards to collection of information – especially in relation to the Trump Campaign. However, once signed, Section 2.3 granted broad latitude to inter-agency sharing of information.

But by the time Obama’s new executive order was signed on January 3, 2017, all that information was already in the possession of Obama White House.

Thus, Susan Rice’s email to herself takes on an even greater significance b/c no one was ever supposed to know
about the REAL meaning of Obama’s retroactive CYA.....until Rice stupidly laid it all out in an official email.

Halper’s C.V. indicates more than anything that “Left” and “Right” alike, at that level, are willing to unite for the all-important project of discrediting and eventually getting rid of Donald J. Trump-—who they must think at this point has just not shown enough readiness to toe their line.

I’m in lock-step with you. It’s the only way to play it. The bashing of Sessions here at FR ignores that PDJT would tolerate, what appears to be, complete incompetence. Of course he wouldn’t so it has to be due to things we’re not hearing about.

Mueller is obviously trying very hard to get fired. They NEED PDJT to make the wrong move and they’re going out of their minds that he hasn’t. They think he’s unsophisticated and will make knee jerk reactions. They are the ones too stupid to realize he’s not whom they want him to be. He is outplaying them so well they don’t even realize it.

You beat me to it. What exactly was his role in the campaign? It sounds to me like all he was doing was trying to plant information or develop a source that he could then try to exploit.

I think there’s a good chance that he’s going to realize that he was nothing more than a useful idiot for her and her Deep State supporters. It wouldn’t be surprising is no one from CIA, FBI, or anyone else that was part of the scheme is even taking his calls anymore. Surely, someone as savvy as he, with is James Bondish good looks and years of trade craft should be able to realize that he’s about to be thrown under the bus.

$20 million....Wonder what he and his band of lawyers were paying themselves. Or did their daddy, Rosenstein, authorize their pay? I’m sure it wasn’t cheap to have these partisan hacks doing nothing but making stuff up and lying all day, in between updating Facebook and checking Instagram.

He’s someone they can toss in the ring because he’s a foreigner.

Previous post’s said he’s been missing for 7 months....how do you question someone that is missing? Basically, dead men tell no lies. It’s no different than Mueller thumping his chest about the Russians and then we find out that the whole case is built on lies. Mueller didn’t think they’d show up and force him to show his hand. Now, they throw this guy out there, hoping that no one forces their hand.

But....

Let’s say that later on tonight he walks into a BBC studio and says that he had no role in anything....What happens next? Is the UK going to kidnap and hand over one of their citizens? Nope. Do we send the CIA or Delta to go in there and kidnap him? Nope. He’s untouchable. We can’t force him to talk to us.

So, the Left is hoping that throwing a name of someone that is either, Gone or Untouchable, will satisfy their desire to find out what happened.

I’m thinking that the President does know everything. And we have to remember that if what we’ve been told about data collection, meta data, etc and the NSA, then Adm Mike Rogers KNOWS EVERY F*CKING THING THERE IS TO KNOW. And, if I’m not mistaken, he paid an unannounced and “unauthorized” trip to Mar a Lago to talk to Donald J Trump, while still working for obama, much to the ire of obama.

But, what could obama have done at that point? Fire him? Sure. About 2 months before leaving office for the new President. No telling what Rogers knows or has on obama, the clintons, everyone, and how many “deadman switches” he has. They all probably want to throw him to the sharks but know they can’t.

So, is it possible that Adm Rogers handed off what NSA knows about all of this? Why does it always seem that the President is a half step ahead of these, who now seem to be, bully amateurs? Is he just letting this all play out, giving them all the rope they need to tie their own nooses?

And let’s not forget about Weiner and his laptop. I realize that the Weiner issue is different, but the some of the players are not. No telling what NYPD found on that laptop. Is it possible that an investigator from NYPD made some copies and somehow they made their way to Trump Tower. Lots of NYPD guys working there now. His former security director was NYPD. The President, contrary to what the media wants to portray, now, is rather well liked in NYC, especially by the cops and firemen.

If I were Halper, I would immediately put out a statement to the effect that he is in perfect health and has never considered in the past or will in the future contemplate suicide..... Just saying, it might be good for his long term health prospects...

“....the President is a half step ahead of these, who now seem to be, bully amateurs? Is he just letting this all play out, giving them all the rope they need to tie their own nooses?”

They were so damn sure that Pantsuit would win and they would never be held to account for their brazen corruption. So they doubled down and abused every resource available to the politically weaponized executive branch. Many of them figured they’d be rewarded for their efforts on her behalf by the incoming Clinton administration!

When Trump won, I was not surprised - I had been watching his rallies on YouTube and somewhere along the line I realized something big was happening.

The biggest surprise for me was how shocked the other side was. It was as if they had zero inkling that there was even a remote possibility Hillary Clinton would not be POTUS.

So in my preoccupation with Trump’s victory, and the shadenfreud of the Democrat’s defeat, I missed something huge that happened - I wonder how many other Trump supporters missed it:

The Deep State was dealt a severe blow that day - the Mother Of All Bombs crushed their world. They were staggering around blind with blood dripping out of their ears. The press didn’t report it of course, and they couldn’t admit it even to themselves, but Trump drained a good portion of the Swamp simply by getting elected.

Think of the hundreds of billions of dollars spent by corporate lobbyists, foriegn nations, the global banking cartel (just to name a few) in order to purchase influence and favor at the Clinton White House. Suddenly worthless over night. Think of the massive criminal bureaucratic infrastructure of Obama’s politically weaponized executive branch - suddenly “out in the cold” overnight. Think of the bought and paid for politicians - suddenly dead men walking - unable to make good on their end of the deal.

The press didn’t report any of this and the deep state was dumbstruck - but there’s another reason nobody heard anything about the day the DC lights went out: Trump didn’t want an invisible victory where the enemy mysteriously disappears, only to return another day. He knew it needed to be a lesson for the history books.

I think Trump faked a limp in order to bait the deep state into doubling down for a symbolic showdown. Firing Comey, Sessions’ recusal, some defensive tweeting, submitting to Mueller’s witch hunt - all in order to give the appearance of being cornered, being in danger of impeachment and removal.

The funny thing is, I don’t think the illusion was to fool the enemy so much as to force an already mortally wounded enemy to stand up in the middle of the street and draw - so the townsfolk get to see the sheriff mete out justice with a clean kill.

All the pearl clutchers worrying about how Sleepy Sessions has doomed Trump’s presidency by foisting Rosenstien and Mueller on him - they vastly overestimate the deep state’s medical status. As we speak, deep state government bureaucrats are pushing to the front of the line to take immunity deals in exchange for ratting each other out. The DOJ keeps postponing conclusion of its investigations - not because it’s covering up for deep state brethren, but because it’s constantly flooded with new states witnesses looking for an immunity deal.

This is going to end well for the good guys - Trump’s real victory celebration is still ahead of us. Some bad guys will go to jail - but the important thing will be the utter ruination of the DNC and its propaganda organ, the MSM. As Obama/Clinton corruption is brought to light, the brainless and fickle MSM will try to throw the DNC under the bus to save itself - but it will be too late. They will be seen for the pathetic jackasses that they are.

By engineering the rebirth of an honorable news media, Trump will have givin the Republic a second chance at greatness, as he promised, and go down as the greatest POTUS since George Washington.

Spot on....

I saw a post on FB, from the Tea Party Patriots page and it had something about Mueller’s investigation being a failure. I wrote, then erased a comment, that I don’t think the investigation is a failure by any stretch of the imagination. I believe that is has been a remarkable success, part of which you mention in your comment. Two things you wrote stand out, in this regard...

- So they doubled down and abused every resource available to the politically weaponized executive branch. Many of them figured they’d be rewarded for their efforts on her behalf by the incoming Clinton administration! .... just think of what they’d be doing to her enemies, her opposition and the people of this country had it went her way. We’d be a combination of Syria, Venezuela and most of Europe right now, or at least well on our way

- Think of the massive criminal bureaucratic infrastructure of Obama’s politically weaponized executive branch .... these people strutted around DC, NYC, LA, Chicago and the world, thinking their sh*t didn’t stink. They could destroy you, with their weapons and the media, overnight and they knew it. obama is/was the ultimate puppet doing the bidding of all those deep pocket types that can use government and politicians to get what they want.

Unless I’m told, and it is proven, otherwise, Adm Rogers and the NYPD are the ones responsible for what is happening now. I say that because they had to have given him the info he needs. Rogers has the keys to unlock every secret there is. And for him to show up, in Florida, out of nowhere and without permission, for me, is very telling. NYPD saw what was on that computer.

And to think of how the USA, the Treasury, its resources, its people would be “raped” by the rest of the world and the corporations that wasted the “hundreds of billions of dollars spent by corporate lobbyists, foriegn nations, the global banking cartel (just to name a few) in order to purchase influence and favor at the Clinton White House .... they would have owned her and us.

Nice job...
