What constrains human behavior? Morality.

Remove morality and you remove those constraints.

Worse, replace an absolute morality with a meaningless “if it feels good, do it” mindset and what do you expect.

Maybe slaughtering those kids felt good to the Santa Fe Scumbag. Who are we to judge?

I agree. Atheists don’t like to admit that their morals are ALL self or society imposed and they have no basis since people and society changes. And when they teach godlessness, a lot of people jump to the conclusion that they can make up their own morals and do what they want as long as they don’t get caught. In a liberals’ world, everyone sets their own morals. For example, they may believe that killing is okay, but not torturing someone to death, or that death by torture is okay but not cannibalism.

What if:

What if our current culture is almost universally suppressing males? And what if the younger males are now struggling to cope with a society that consistently tells them they are not as valued as their female counterparts? What if the public schools are consciously and subconsciously suppressing the male spirit?

What if there is a dearth of male role models in the home? That is, boys (children) with no father and no male role model and the strong male discipline through young life?

I'm not seeking to excuse actions, but what if society, i.e., the Left, has now so diminished the worth of males and of "masculinity" that the weaker spirited among us are the first to emotionally collapse and lash out.

This article points out that in 8 of 12 cases the shooters made videos and social media posts that, seems to me, exaggerates and distorts a sense of masculinity. As if to almost lash out in extreme rebellion saying that they are males, are in control of "something" and who, now after being invisible, must now be reckoned with through the force of their action.

“Some behavioral side effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants have been known for a long time. Since the introduction of these drugs in the 1990s, publications have regularly reported behavioral side effects in children and adolescents, including excitation, motor restlessness, social disinhibition, and above all self-injurious ideation and behavior.” The first mass school shooting was 1999 Columbine.

I don't think folks give what you said the importance the statement is due.

When there are no losers and no winners, when everyone gets a “participation” trophy, then no one knows how to deal with losing. No one knows how to deal with rejection.

Kids are having their views of themselves not just cracked, they see themselves as being shattered and stomped on, and they don't know how to deal with that. Sadder still is that this is the reaction to being turned down by someone they like. What are they going to do when the larger losses in life come around.

Loss of a job, loss of a loved one, finding out a spouse cheated on you.

As these kids get older, it's gonna get messier.

True.

I was subtly referring to an article yesterday from the Los Angeles Times claiming that the first girl who was killed at Santa Fe High School in Texas when the boy yelled "Surprise" was the girl he pursued for dates over several months. She kept declining his advances, and ultimately rejected him in front of the whole class, greatly embarrassing him.

The shooting took place one week later.

“CCHR International’s investigation into school violence reveals that at least 36 school shootings and/or school-related acts of violence have been committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 172 wounded and 80 killed (in other school shootings, information about their drug use was never made public—neither confirming or refuting if they were under the influence of prescribed drugs or undergone other behavioral therapy.)[2] At least 27 international drug regulatory agency warnings have been issued on psychiatric drugs being linked to mania, violence, hostility, aggression, psychosis, and homicidal ideation (thoughts or fantasies of homicide that can be planned)...”

That’s true, but it’s because they grew up without strong male fathers. The mass school shootings by white teens and young adults is definitely linked to prescription drugs. See my link above.

"...the desensitization of killing..."

We can add to that the main-streaming of aborting babies - heck, comedians make jokes about it on prime-time TV. Ripping limbs off of little baby boys and little baby girls - with a wink and a nod....

Going to have to take that with a large grain of salt with such a glaring error as 1999 Columbine being the first mass school shooting. Because it wasn’t.

Here is a list of 16 that occurred before 1999.

Don’t completely agree. It isn’t to “stop trying to teach them so much that they don’t want or need.” It’s that they do not teach them what they do need. And they give them just enough to fail.

Disregard my prior post. I’ve checked my data. I had totaled the counts by decade from 1700 through 1980 and then started using yr by yr results.

I've reformatted my data. 2014 is the peak year for school shootings.

The year after the "Gun Free School Zone" nonsense was introduced school shootings went from 2 in 1990 to 6,8,9,10 in 91, 92, 93, 94.

We all know what happened in 1994 with the AWB.

But that did nothing to alleviate school shootings as they sadly continued.

A better way to say that was columbine was the beginning of the dramatic increase of school shootings by boys many of whom were on prescription psychiatric drugs.

"Liberals have normalized extreme hate and violence. (ANTIFA, the Berkely anti-speech riots, etc.) Now there is a big surprise that people are acting out their hate with extremely violent acts"

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

the attitude of that Wayne Dyer book..."I'm okay...you're okay"...

nothing we do or think is wrong or bad or immoral...

every little feeling is legit...

which is why hating is so prevelant...

and why now promiscuity and babies outside of marriage, if marriage at all, homosexuality and all this trans gender baloney is flourishing...

as Bill Bennent wrote something to the effect of the "end of shame"....

That is a popular myth. It is not many, it is some, few might even be more accurate.

Here is an actual tally of school shooters world wide and the prevalence of medication use.
