School shootings peaked in 1970?? Really??

I pulled data from Wikipedia for this under school shootings.

I was kinda surprised to see as many as I did prior to the 1990s.

Let me retract that. I just pulled the data again and got a different result. When I get home I’ll confirm the numbers.

Disregard my prior post. I’ve checked my data. I had totaled the counts by decade from 1700 through 1980 and then started using yr by yr results.

I've reformatted my data. 2014 is the peak year for school shootings.

The year after the "Gun Free School Zone" nonsense was introduced school shootings went from 2 in 1990 to 6,8,9,10 in 91, 92, 93, 94.

We all know what happened in 1994 with the AWB.

But that did nothing to alleviate school shootings as they sadly continued.
