As Asian and new citizen, I found whites are not as cohesive as other ethnic groups. Historically they are majority and did good job building country. But it’s strange to me that they don’t unite around sovereignty of country. That’s so unfortunate. They have many strengths, ingenuity, hardworking, idealistic, brave and courageous(more so overseas than domestically)generous, open minded, artistic, humorous and many more. But if they don’t put sovereignty above all, they hardly form a nation. Ironically it is people like me that immigrated from outside America care more about sovereignty like border than whites. A country is defined by its culture. A culture is defined by its people. After I fully embraced American culture, I found myself minority. In my own country a border is eerie place where no one goes. Any invader will alert entire country. We act like one. Any country is like that except America. I’m disappointed

No. The WP article says that whites are leaving the Dem party precisely because of the border issue and sovereignty (as well as other issues).

The left opposes borders because the left is internationalist and has always hated America. I saw this years ago because I was once one of them, at least on the fringes, but now it should be obvious to everyone: they are trying to destroy this country as an independent, sovereign nation.

It's all about guilt.Sadly,we decided not to pick our own cotton centuries ago.The descendants of those who did have discovered that victim-hood is profitable and...voila!...we have today's democrat Party.As they say,when robbing Peter to pay Paul,one can always depend on Paul's cooperation.

There are more then a few whites in this country who accept responsibility for serious errors made 200+ years ago.

We all are. But the disaster at our border did not percolate from American culture. It rose out of elite one-world order types affiliated with both political parties for different reasons. American culture 2018 is vastly different than American culture 1978. The “silent majority” is finally waking up and I expect to see a revival of traditional American/Family/Liberty values soon.

That is because being an American isn’t about being a race or ethnic group, it is a culture. If whites or any other large demographic don’t think America is worth defending, than it won’t be long until it falls.

Will there be a people strong enough to survive and carry on? Not if the Gospel of Christ is abandoned.

Amazing how many people don't pick up on this like you have. White Protestant culture is very individualistic. Even within the family, we tend to be formal and a little aloof. On the positive side, I think it is why we have accomplished so much. White parents tend to let their kids become whoever they're going to be. And in terms of society, we don't police each other. Weirdos and loners thrive in white society. Eccentricity is accepted. But the down side is, unless we have numbers on our side, or a very specific cause to rally around, we could be overrun by clannish hordes. I used to joke that the only way to get whites to riot is to first get them together at a concert or sporting event, THEN get them angry. It has to be in that order or you'll just get a lot of strongly-worded e-mails.
