Not buying it. And even if it is true are they suggesting that they be altered to raise the cost of shipping to make everything ridiculously expensive or to ban shipping and make things unavailable?

pump out killer chemicals linked to thousands of deaths because of the filthy fuel they use

Where is the verifiable and scientifically accepted data that says these ships cause "thousands of deaths because of the filthy fuel they use"?

This looks like another Leftist scam job.

I have a better idea. Stop governments from paying for any research that shows man made global warming exist.

Pay only for research that proves the opposite.

Watch how quickly the numbers all change to prove the new theory.

Quacks, all of them.

Answer - nuclear power, which on our submarines has a higher safety history then oil tankers, pipelines, offshore oil rigs or airplanes - all of which contain or use oil, which nuclear powered subs do not. We already have the engineering designs and operational safety regimen’s down pat, and I’m sure some retiring Navy nuclear sub engineers and captains wouldn’t mind new careers that used their professional expertise.

Another whacko liberal fascist article predicting that the sky is falling. Soon we will be riding horses again.

All Gorp must be behind this somewhere, extorting oil companies to get paid off by threatening to expose their shipping “pollution?”

Bunker “C” is foul stuff. We used to use it in several plants I worked in. It has to be heated before you can even pump it, it’s so thick. When burned properly, it does put out a lot of sulphur fumes, as it has so much sulphur in it.

As for causing deaths? Unless you are constantly inhaling thick fumes, it’s a rare, uncomfortable inconvenience to any other than those super-sensitized.

There is the whole “acidification” issue, mind you.

In World War II two thousand ships were sunk, spilling fuel into the sea. Many of the ships carrying fuel burned. Practically every city in Europe burned to the ground. Practically every building in Russia between the Urals and Germany burned to the ground. Most of the city buildings in Japan burned to the ground. A year after the war the skies looked clear.

So tell me how we’re all going to die because ships burn bunker fuel.

The Russian carrier Kuznetsov is laid up now and needs to be re-boilered.

Ukraine isn't in the mood to sell them.

Now its Twenty-two gigantic cargo ships, and they still use the lowest quality, garbage oil available. P.S. The Australian fires in 2013 sent more co2 into the atmosphere then humans will in a Hundred Years.

... this pollution could kill as many as a million more people in the coming decade..."

How do they know this? Just for a moment I'll consider that what they say is true -- that this is nasty stuff and it's going to cause some problems, including millions of untimely deaths. How would they know which people died from this?

Note to Fred, those superships are also keeping the
EAST in hard cash, don’t forget that.

16 of the world’s largest ships can produce as much lung-clogging sulphur pollution as all the world’s cars.

So at least we can agree to eliminate all the regulations on cars.

make things unavailable?

Now this is funny. The world is so messed up with this "free trade" globalist BS average people, like you I guess, cannot imagine that durable goods can(and I would argue should) be made IN THE USA.

You know, if everyone would agree to be poor and/or die, all these problems would go away.
