Bob Beckel, the former co-host on Fox News’ The Five, appeared to put his foot in his mouth last night by tweeting a few things that look like they weren’t supposed to be made public.
Based on his tweets, it seems Beckel was trying to send a direct message to the host of The McLaughlin Group, Tom Rogan. According to The Daily Beast, Rogan has contacted Beckel about whether he’d like to be a guest on the show sometime.
As it were, Beckel ended up publicly tweeting his response to Rogan, saying Fox would interfere if he made an appearance. He also took a swing at his old show by saying its “getting a bit tired” compared to McLaughlin.

FOX NEWS and the members of the Five treated him with compassion and respect. He just treated them back with insults and swear words on the air. They had to let him go. I am just surprised someone else picked him up. Is Al Jazeera next?
But alas. The nasty attitude tells me he probably isn't working a 'program of recovery' which usually results in a resurgence of--or signs of a return to--active addiction.

This is a good example of breaking the simple, but often broken rule of never pressing the “send” button while impaired.
Which, in Mr. Beckel’s case, would basically have kept him entirely incommunicado.
I appreciated that he took a lot of punches on The Five and still punched back, and many of those stung. Unlike Juan, he was not entirely a shill for the DNC and could agree with conservatives in some areas, notably In counterterrorism.
Yeah, and I was just hoping he'd inveigle "Wan" Williams and and that other feckless idiot Richard Fowler into leaving as well. At least then we could concentrate on Guilfoyle’s legs if nothing else! Oh well, anything for "fair and balanced" doncha know!
