“It’s time to cut the welfare rolls and encourage a bunch of these people to start working for a living.”

What welfare roles?? Be specific.

We’re talking about H-1B foreign workers taking American jobs and you claim Americans are on some sort of magic welfare. IT workers do not qualify for ANY welfare.

The labor market is not that tight. Let the labor market participation rate go back up 4% like it was before the Great Recession and then I’ll listen to claims that the unemployment rate is starting to edge down....and 3.9% is hardly low.

Wages are going up because the labor market is so tight? Well its about damn time. Real wages have not increased in TWENTY YEARS.

No to letting in more immigrants other than a few very highly skilled ones for areas where we really do have critical shortages. We do not need more unskilled labor. Immigrants as a percentage of the population will soon hit the highest level ever.

There’s a difference between a ‘roll’ and a ‘role’.

A welfare roll is a list of people who are receiving welfare.

‘Deadbeat’ and ‘fraud’ would be examples of common welfare roles.
