I grew up around a lot of blind people by virtue of a blind family member. If anyone had a valid “excuse” to be poor, they did. But the vast majority of them worked, and were comfortable.
And, if they are working, to Bolshies, they are rich.
We certainly do not need that lying sack of excrement, Kevin McCarthy nor even Steve Scalise, even though he was shot and continues to need medical assistance (his is lots better than yours, besides, we pay his copay, if he has any.)

If your not able to work full time, as many are not in Leftist states with high income and job services requirements it can be hard to make 30k.
That said a lot of people choose to stay under that so that they can get an additional 30k in government services, everything from subsided housing. Which in my city are in prime locations.
to free healthcare and countless other benefits.
As your not paying any income tax on that money you get to take all of it home. that’s almost 2500 a month.
So maybe you spend about 600-800 on a nice subsided house.
that should leave you 1.9 to 1.7k for remaining expense of car, food, and entertainment.
No wonder theses people tend to have all of that.
