The IG report is our best shot at the truth about Hillary's emails (and it could be explosive)
Fox News ^ | 25 May 2018 | Jason Chaffetz

Hawaii isn’t the only place bracing for a major eruption at any time. Washington awaits the explosive release of a highly anticipated report from the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) on its examination of the FBI’s highly questionable investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server to handle her State Department emails when she was secretary of state.

The new OIG report, expected to be released within days, could unleash serious consequences for senior-level Justice Department and FBI officials who served during the Obama presidency.

Given the tools available to the OIG and the credibility of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, the latest report could also uncover new and seriously damaging information about Clinton’s email practices, including her handling of classified information.

FBI Director James Comey (later fired by President Trump) criticized Clinton’s handling of emails in July 2016, while she was running for president against Donald Trump.

Comey said in a news conference that no reasonable prosecutor would file charges against Clinton for acting illegally – a controversial finding. But he stated: “Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

Unlike Congress, the OIG has the cooperation at the Department of Justice to do an in-depth, full-scale investigation. The infighting between branches of government that we see in congressional investigations does not exist with OIG investigations because the OIG is still a part of the executive branch.

Part of the problem is that in theory an ex-President and ex- Secretary of State could end up behind bars, and all Is must be dotted and Ts crossed precisely. We are in uncharted waters.

This IG report has been stalled, and delayed so often ..and we still DON'T have a date on when the public will see it..

It makes me feel that is won't be explosive, but another liberal controlled report..smh..

What ever..we may NEVER see it. or MAYBE we will..Government controls..nothing new..

IG reports is what they did with Lois Lerner, and the DOJ ignored the referrals.

Same here, IG Referral has been ignored,

You need a Special Prosecutor.

Rod Rosenstein’s DOJ has been playing this just like Lois Lerner. Without a Prosecutor, there’s nothing.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for what could be just another bureaucratic nothingburger. Remember the IG report is just paper with no teeth.

Delays and hide evidence is the plan.

IG has no Authority with State, CIA, NSA, former DOJ, Former FBI.

The DOJ won’t even let the IG look at Strzok’s personal phone/devices even though they were used to circumvent the oversight safeguards.

All in all, a good article with some excellent information of Inspectors General.

The IG report is our best shot at the truth about Hillary's emails...

I agree with Jason Chaffetz on this...If this IG report is a whitewash, this country is doomed.

Remember the old TV game show called Let's Make A Deal with Monty Hall ? When the curtain is opened on the IG investigation I expect to hear the ole Wah, Wah, Wah, line they played when someone lost.

Sadly I feel the losers will be us Freepers.

Horowitz is the guy who exonerated everyone from Holder on down in the Fast and Furious scandal. I’m not holding my breath.

We stand a more likely chance of convicting her for pedophilia and human trafficking than for her other crimes committed while in office.

There is a prosecutor and he has a grand jury.

Try to catch up.

I hope it calls for a blue ribbon commission to recommend reforms, report due by 2021, and the formation of a follow-on commission to track the implementation of the reforms with bienneial reports due starting in 2023. The commissions should be non-partisan with thorough representation from well-respected deep-state swamp dwellers.

You do understand that the DOJ OIG does not have any jurisdiction over any president or secretary of state?

Or anyone else not currently in the DOJ.

The OIG is essentially a corporate auditor, not a prosecutor.

It does seem impossible that actual DOJ prosecutors won’t act, and that’s the reason for the various secret prosecution theories.

It will probably be released on a Friday of a holiday weekend. It was not today. When will it be released? Are they waiting for Christmas?

There is No Prosecutor, and certainly no GJ.

If there was a Prosecutor, why did Rosenstein just give the Investigation of Spygate to the IG?

IG is impotent and Toothless.

Rosenstein/ Sessions are replicating the Lois Lerner IG debacle.

Where is the indictment of McCabe?

IG is next to worthless.
