The writers of A-1 weren't woke enough to know about "different types" of speech.

Not really. Most people don't understand the First Amendment. That Right allows citizens to bitch about the government without being accused of sedition. That is formally called "redress of grievances". It also prohibits the Federal government from establishing a state religion or interfering with the free practice of religion.
The First Amendment has nothing to do with the use of coarse or insulting language unless it is directed at the government or a government official. All other interpretations come from "court rot".
