I have a boy and girl, both in their thirties now, all through the years they lived at home I had guns........where I could use them immediately if there was a threat. Not once in all their years of adolescence did they ever touch one of the guns , unless we were at a range or out in the country shooting.

Guns and the NRA are not the problem, it's parents, schools and authorities that have made boys into shadow girls, made guns into something other than a tool and refuse to discipline or properly treat mental aberrations when they are identified.

Not only are children not allowed to engage in age old role playing games with guns, they are vilified and punished, even if heavens to God they draw a picture of a gun.

Once upon a time when boys were allowed to be boys, when guns and their proper use was taught and not vilified, we didn't have school shootings like this because the boys were allowed to settle their differences in short fights that rarely resulted in serious injury. So don't blame the NRA and guns, put the blame where it truly belongs, the Dr. Spock lunatic, flower child, pussified liberals that have screwed up our kids until this inevitable result has been achieved.

Even in 1st grade, there were fist fights after school behind the gym a couple of days a week.

By 6th grade, the PE Coach would require us to settle disputes/bullying by going to the gym after school, putting on boxing gloves and then slugging it out.

FRiends of mine, many years ago, were parents of a spoiled rotten, totally self-centered pre-teen daughter. She was cute, but had a butt-ugly personality.

I ran into the three of them a few years later, and asked what had transformed their daughter into such a lovely young lady, perfectly mannered, polite, well-spoken, etc. etc.

Their (paraphrased) response: “We threw Dr. Spock in the trash and beat the crap out of her! Straightened her right out!”
