Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took aim at President Trump on Thursday over his implementation of steel and aluminum tariffs against Canada and other nations.

At a press conference Thursday, the Canadian leader issued some of his strongest remarks against the Trump administration's trade policies to date.

"Let me be clear: These tariffs are totally unacceptable," Trudeau said. "Canadians have served alongside Americans in two world wars and in Korea. From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan, we have fought and died together."

Noting that Canada purchases more U.S. steel than any other nation, Trudeau lambasted the Trump administration for initiating the tariffs under the guise of confronting a threat to national security. "Canada is a secure supplier of aluminum and steel to the U.S. defense industry, putting aluminum in American planes and steel in American tanks," Trudeau said. "That Canada could be considered a national security threat to the United States is inconceivable."

"These tariffs are an affront to the long-standing security partnership between Canada and the United States, and in particular, to the thousands of Canadians who have fought and died alongside American comrades-in-arms," he finished.

I’m still fuzzy on why the tariffs were implemented on our allies - another Chinese negotiating tactic?

I have to admit that this is a creative line of attack from wittle Justin, though I’m not sure what Canadian veterans have to do with a question of trade.

From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan

From the shores of Cherbourg, Normandy, to the hills of Kandahar.

The Europeans and the Canadians have been getting away with their one-sided trade war for so long, they don’t know what to do. Time for them all to put on their big boy pants.

“....Is Trudeau stark,raving mad???????....”

Yes. All libs are insane to varying degrees, including this nutcase as well.
A real leader, Instead of bitching/whining about it, would be asking why they’re being put in place and then negotiating a fair, “win-win” trade deal. But a lib in a leadership position has absolutely no negotiating skills, actually no real skills at anything at all, except how to run off at the mouth.

Little Justine doesn't know FACTUAL history!

Canadians, who fought in WW I and WW II did so as part of the UK as a Commonwealth Nation, which had less than NOTHING whatsoever to do with the USA, who was a Johnny-come-lately to WW I ( a war we should NEVER have been dragged into at all! ); though Americans joined up, THROUGH CANADA to help, long before we entered that fray!

And as far as the other battles we both fought in, it was NEVER at the behest of the USA, but rather as a under the auspices of the UN or the UK (as an ally of the USA ), or as part of a coalition.

Well, I suspect Trump’s getting our allies “lined up” using a little tough love.
