The SCOTUS did NOT give him (Bush) the election. All they did was ask the FSC how in the hell did they come to their conclusion. Even the chief justice of the FSC said that its decision would result in what happened.
The FSC dismissed their ruling. END OF STORY.
There was no possible way for Gore to prevail with the FL Legislature prepared to appoint electors.
SCOTUS should have never heard that case.
