This points to two things: the consolidation of Kim Jong Uns power as the sole leader of North Korea and strengthened cooperation between the Norths party and military as the country works toward further economic development, said Yang Moo-ji, professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Agree with this...

Kim has been the leader for several years. I dont think there are any competing power bases at this point. But since he will be leaving the country for a few days and is going to be negotiating a deal that would probably be opposed by some of his generals hes removing the top guys. Its more the timing thats important. Anything these guys had in the works is now without a leader. Anything their successors might put together wont be ready for implementation until after he gets back.
