At 30 miles distance, only the portion of the structure above 595 feet would be visible due to the curvature sightline. The SeaTitan™ 10MW wind turbine designed by American energy technologies company AMSC is currently the biggest wind turbine in the world.

The direct-drive turbine, with 190m (623 ft) rotor diameter, has a rated power capacity of 10MW and hub height of 125m (410 ft). Thus the max height is the radius (312') plus the hub height (410') equaling 722 ft. which would be visible for about 34 mile distance.

My understanding is that the majority of the turbines will be closer than 30 miles.

Actually, I hope so. I don’t care about the “clean” energy. I just want to be able to fish around them on my boat. Any structure will bring fish.

It’s amazing how large these turbines are now and they are going to keep getting larger.

From what I understand, the larger size increases efficiency.

How long before they start changing the climate?
