“Smart Guns” will not have a chance until “smart phones” are immune to drops or full immersion in liquids.
When you need a gun, you need a gun.
And a smart gun that will ‘brick’ is as useless as a brick.
Guns that that are as fagile as a cell phones cannot withstand constant shockwaves or survive adverse conditions Cold ice, water dirt, mud etc.etc.
And this doesn’t consider someone(or the government) hacking your weapon when they want to render it useless. No conspiracy theory needed, it will happen.
All the legislation in the world won’t change a gun owners mind on this.
Obviously this is being pushed by those who have never fired a weapon in their lives.
I will never buy a “Smart Gun” if there is any alternative, but that is just the start of my policy on that issue.
If any company brings a Smart Gun to market, I will boycott that company forever. Similarly for any retailer who carries a Smart Gun on the shelves or offers to special order one.
