The Trump administration's policy of separating illegal immigrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border doesn't sit well with some people, including former First Lady Laura Bush. In a new op-ed for The Washington Post, Mrs. Bush explained why the White House's zero tolerance policy is "cruel," "immoral," and "breaks her heart."
Mrs. Bush compared today's policy of separating families to our treatment of Japanese Americans during World War Two.

Well W.W. II was a different thing, but to the point of this, these are not by definition Internment Camps.
But there is an idea, I proposed this over the weekend as one of the options. If they want all these families housed together then, yes, you have to build and maintain large Internment Camps for all of these people.
Otherwise you send them back across the border, or just have open borders and give up.
None of the people. Laura Bush included, have not offered any idea to deal with this that they will accept.
Jeez. First of all FDR, a Democrat, was directly responsible for putting US citizens in concentration camps without due process for the duration of WWII and destroyed their lives. Children were NEVER separated from their families but were bussed out with 48 hours to sell their businesses and homes.
The illegals in this case are INVADERS, not US citizens. They will get due process and most likely released w their parents. The process we are seeing was implemented under Obama in 2014.

Her husband took Chucky Schumer’s compromise and he and the Democrat congress made this policy law in 2002.
It is up to Congress to fix what they have done. If they simply build the wall, this other stuff can be legislated. McCain in 2012 ran campaign ads saying it is just damn time to Build the Wall. What changed with Trump.

The elites want the US economy to operate under a banana republic model. Abortion is parents deserting their offspring to death. And the parents are deserting their children at the border if they don’t take them with to the parents’ legal country. Seems to me this is a choice on the part of the parent.
The 2016 election was supposed to be a safe bet for the political establishment. With a "choice" between another Clinton and another Bush in the WH, it was win-win for them. Then along came Trump and ruined things for them just when things were sailing along smoothly.

National Review says that 84 percent of the detained minors are teens. The vast majority of whom are male.
Basically we are detaining MS-13’s farm league.
Mrs. Bush apparently does not know our laws, as passed by the Democrats.
Perhaps Mrs. Bush is not aware that those families with children seeking asylum at ports of entry, are NOT separated.
There are exceptions, DHS will only separate at ports of entry if the child is in danger, if there is no custodial relationship between 'family' members, or if the adult has broken a law.
Illegal immigrants who bypass or otherwise skip reporting to the ports of entry are breaking the law and subject to criminal penalties, just as when American citizens break the law and are separated from their children. The children separated from their criminal parents, are being treated very well by the DHS.
Is Mrs. Bush aware of American citizens who are forever separated from their children because they were killed by an illegal? The lax policies of previous administrations has resulted in a monumental volume of dead American children, killed by illegals. Does Mrs. Bush want to continue ignoring the forgotten man?
