I think it depends upon the definition of “Hispanic”. If you are mixed, Hispanic and anglo, the census considers you Hispanic. Same is true for Asian/White and Black/ White mixed. You are considered a part of the minority group.

In the Jim Crow south they called it the "one drop" rule. If you have even one drop of non-white blood, you aint white. That's long gone everywhere but the US Census Bureau apparantly.

I did an ancestry.com DNA test and the strongest lines in me are Iberian. German, African and Taino (the Indians of Puerto Rico.)
