Most Latinos I know here are pretty white in their actions. They work, care for their families, go to school, attend church, serve in the military. I don’t think they’re becoming the majority is instantly going to change everything. Remember, Texas was carved out of Mexico. They’ve been here from the start.

As with all immigrant groups, as they become more assimilated and move up the economic ladder they vote more conservative. When you marry, have kids, own property you become more conservative.
Irish-Americans voted 80-90% for Democrats right up to Kennedy in 1960. Their vote now splits about 50-50.

As a Tejana, I’ll remind the survey takers that the majority of us are mostly CAUCASIAN/WHITE-the descendants of the Spaniards who started coming to the New World in the 16th century and interbred with Native Americans from various tribes-some of them had more Caucasian DNA than others, too-so they need to stop the “non white” s***-it just makes them look stupid-there are only 3 races and based on archaeology and DNA findings, none of them has been pure for 10’s of 1000’s of years anyway...
My ancestors came to what was Spanish territory-now Texas and New Mexico-in the late 1700’s-so I’m a Caucasian American and an ethnic Latina-like most from the rural border areas, I’ve spoken/read-Spanish as a 2nd language since early childhood-people like me have been here for a long, long time-we are conservatives, and we vote that way...
