...We ran out of chants, so we eventually were like, well, I think weve made our point, theyre not going to come, I guess we should leave at some point, Werner says.
For his part, Safi, the owner, has tried to remain diplomatic. He notes that the place has long hosted a lot of high-ranking government officials from both parties. We respect their privacy. We accommodate them, and they like that. They feel like a normal customer, he says. We welcome everyone.
Safi says his first concern was safety. There were some families, including kids in high chairs, in the dining room during the protest. At one point, someone did call the police, but he isnt sure if it was his staff, Secret Service, or someone else. But he says it was quickly evident that the protest was peaceful.
Excepts from a longer article.
I never saw elsewhere that the Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America was involved. Sounds typical of childish trust fund kiddies and young adults that are raised in a bubble.
DC Just voted for a $15 minimum wage (including waiters) ... Restaurant’s probably gonna close soon
ahhhh for the good old days when they sent 18yr olds 10,000 miles away trained and ready to eliminate communists. Sometimes those goals actually made sense, maybe it’s getting close again but not 10,000 miles away but walking down our own streets and usually displaying their communist affiliations with signs & masks instead of hiding in black pyjamas among the population.
Forcing people to leave before eating and disrupting others in the restaurant is deemed "not harming anyone"? I disagree.
That restaurant needs to go out of business.
I guess because "they" is confused everybody else needs to be confused as well.
Using government time and resources is not a 'personal' action and 'verbal assaults' on private property during a contractual event (ordering a meal) is not a 'valid protest' as I understand it. Am I wrong?
.”.. As they initially confronted Nielsen, Werner says a manager asked them to leave. They walked past him.”
At what point does the manager say to the protestors “This is a private business and you are disturbing many of our customers. I’m asking you to leave now. if you don’t I WILL call the police”.
Instead the manager calls the owner and gives him updates. One would think the owner would tell his manager “Ask them to leave again. If they don’t, tell them you’ll call the police”.
Nothing in the owner’s commentary (ex: “We respect their privacy...”) is anything more than verbal nonsense. IMHO, the owner is as complicit as the protestors were.
Have they been fired from their gov’t jobs?
Sorry, Mr. President, but that is carrying inclusion and tolerance a bit too far.
So the answer is never, never go to MXDC
Secretary Nielsen needs a Secret Service detail to protect her from these terrorist wanna-bees.
We must not forget what the left did to Congressman Scalise.
“Amanda Werners friend was dining at MXDC when he recognized none other than Kirstjen Nielsen”
Why, it was justa coincidence. That DOJ girl didn’t stalk her. Nooooo... who could ever think that. /s
The article mentions the manager asked them to leave. They did not, and that is a crime. So the DOJ lawyer, Allison Hrabar can be sanctioned since she broke the law in her so called expression of her First Amendment Right.
She harassed K. Nielsen, and she should pay the price.
So this was basically a mainstream Democrat group.
Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America——and EMPLOYEES of our Federal Government. Collecting paychecks & benefits while fighting against every single taxpayer in the USA.
All need to be fired. No fly list. NO rehire lists.
Although very few, they had professionally produced signs, a megaphone and media cameras covering them.
