We should use the Hungarian solution. 200 yard buffer zone inside the border. Anyone wanting to wait for their application to be processed can do it there, on US soil, NOT in custody, NOT free to travel further into the US. And they’re free to walk away at any time.
Only if they come in the front door. Anyone coming in the back door should be barred from ever getting any type of legal status regardless of what their circumstance is.
Also; this 200 yard buffer wouldn't work here. Use the front door then go to a holding detention center until asylum or other claim can be adjudicated. If it's a false claim; never be allowed in no matter what. Prison time for 2nd or more offenders.
President Trump is right. This illegal border crossing stuff has to stop. The front door should be the only way in. Those overstaying visas need to be deported with a no entry tag put on them. Can't come in period.
Yes, I have thought the same way too, but, the problem is they will give birth inside the buffer zone and the chid, by our laws, is an American citizen.
My solution is have them apply for asylum at the US consulate or embassy in their country or a contiguous country. Anyone who tries to sneak across the Rio Grande gets sent back. As for the little dears that they bring with them, they’ll get them back as soon as they prove that they’re their kids. If they are not their kids, they get prosecuted, sentenced, serve their time and then get sent back. While they’re in, we find the real parents and return the kids to them. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

The Hungarians are showing the rest of the EU and the USA how to handle the invaders. I don’t see any downside to this arrangement.
