It’s ABC News. Look, we all know there are establishment and Deep State figures who are in this administration, but you know the old saying of “keep your friends close but your enemies closer” is probably in play here. It’s a pretty good bet the president knows who they are too. Trump already has his pick, and without Raj Shah’s input. If anything, Shah may be vetting the nominee getting him or her ready for the confirmation hearings!

If anyone can pick a worse nominee than Harriet Miers, it's this guy.

To get our outrage loons riled up.

Just like with the last SCOTUS pick, they get off on looking for some big gotcha, from every errant headline, they can then have daily meltdowns over.

When they end up wrong, they just quietly disappear.

Sessions is doing his job. He’s just not doing it as loudly as some would like. 40000 + sealed indictments are coming down the pike. That isn’t doing nothing.

That's the most charitable interpretation.

To be honest, aside from Sykes and Pryor-and Barrett, to a lesser extent-the list isn't that impressive.

How did a McConnell favorite even make the cut?

Agreed, he will be setting appointments, making sure lunch is available and other such stuff. He knows he is on very, very thin ice. This is something that he should not screw up....but if he does, will be dismissed once the pick is made. Even if he does a good job, they can simply say, he was working on the pick, we have the pick and now we don’t need him any longer.

The press will be focused on the pick, not the jackass who publicly lied to create a shit storm.....unless of course that was the plan all along. I believe sometimes Trump throws rocks at bees nests just to see who gets stung. The press now thinks he is a leaker and maybe he will leak stuff to throw them off the trail. Trump does love screwing with the press.

I trust Trump.....few others.

>> I bet that he’ll be working on greasing the skids for the pick <<

Of course. But some posters on this thread obviously have a deep-seated need to vent, bloviate and pontificate.

Therefore, I guess any old excuse will do, no matter how far-fetched.

So let ‘em have their fun!

As a research and educational institution, The Heritage Foundation promotes sensible conservative public policies...
The five judges on both lists were federal Judges William Pryor, Diane Sykes, Steven Colloton, Raymond Gruender, and Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett.

Heritage Foundation experts have met with numerous candidates for all levels of public office in the last year, including the Trump campaign, in an effort to promote conservative policy recommendations that provide opportunity for all Americans.

The same guy who ran Girsuch’s nomi action is running this one for Trump.

They are having 3 guys take leaves of absence to manage the rollout.

If I recall correct Shah is going to run the communications to congress.

“If anyone can pick a worse nominee than Harriet Miers, it’s this guy.”

Consider some of the staunch conservatives appointed by recent GOP presidents:

Dwight David Eisenhower - Earl Warren, William Brennan

Richard Nixon - Harry Blackman

Gerald Ford - John Paul Stevens

Ronald Reagan - Sandra Day O’Conner, Anthony Kennedy

George H.W. Bush - David Souter

George W. Bush - John Roberts, (Harriet Miers - withdrawn)

Republicans have a knack for appointing conservatives who “evolve” to the court or they do a lousy job of vetting.

Fake News

President Trump is in charges of choosing his Supreme Court nominee. No one else.
