I still think it would be best to divide Ukraine into two and allow Western Ukraine to join NATO and leave the Eastern Half for Russia.

Trump is right: Germany imports 70% of its gas from Russia in a controversial deal that has enriched its Former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder who has profited from gas deals with Russia....weeks after leaving office he started overseeing the implementation of the project for Gazprom. Schroeder took up position as head of Nord Stream AG's shareholder committee and has worked for the gas behemoth ever since.....Most of the remaining 30% comes from Norway.

Germany's bill for Russian gas last year was 21 billion dollars!

True, but I figure you can't recover the nearly 60k dead in VN and the many others who died as a result of serving there up through the eighties so I consider that portion of our history mostly an unrecoverable application error, so to speak. Parts of that twenty we can recover from would be taken care of in large measure by taking care of the last thirty or thirty five years.

You're right in principle, though, but then again you can go back to Woodrow Wilson and shed a couple of Amendments along with the Federal Reserve but that's a long slow process. The past thirty, though, we may be able to manage as a good start. Doing so would wake people up or shape them up and we could have a chance at the rest.
