“Is publicizing a private recording of a private conversation within a company’s rights?”

It does not appear that a company publicized the conversation as neither Papa John’s or the marketing company issued a statement confirming his use of the N Word.

Now, is it within the rights of any singular person in the conference call to report what he said?

Yes.

Is it within the rights of the marketing company to cut ties with Papa John’s?

Yes.

Is it within the rights of the media to report the story?

Yes.
