Sorry, didn’t think /sarc was necessary.
That 1st photo you posted says it all: “It’s all about meeeee” !!
This is no “resistance,” it’s just a lot of self-indulgent fools desperately seeking identity.
That’s true. The only protocol I know of when a foreign leader meets the Queen, is that when it comes to shaking hands, she has to initiate the handshake.
From what I saw on Fox news, the whole of London and Great Britain disrespected our President! They don’t even know Trump and took to the streets in very bad taste, with signs in very bad taste.. and all the rest they did to show they have no idea how to treat a visiting guest from the United States with the title of President! I was disgusted with the whole lot of them! What I saw was unreal... they don’t vote here and don’t live under our President.. what do they care! just hate filled people who elected a muslim for their mayor... that ought to say something about that city and its inhabitatants.
Sounds like yon "reporter" needs the baby Harp seal cure...
It’s my understanding she actually went out and waited for him to arrive. That’s pretty amazing if true.
You don’t do that if you don’t respect someone.
I’m sure Trump didn’t act like a boring fool.
Even in the article is says, foreign nationals don’t have to bow to her... then they dinged Trump for not going it. Jerks.
Trump hasn’t said one unkind thing about the Queen to my knowledge. I think he and Melania tried to give her the proper level of respect.
This President doesn’t do bowing.
Leaders meet as equals. Neither should be bowing to the other.
Just because Obama is a simpleton doesn’t mean every president is.
I may be mistaken on this but I seem to recall that when a man and a woman are introduced the man doesn’t extend his hand for a shake unless the woman extends hers first. It would make even more sense with a man meeting an older woman.
Still, it looks like the greetings went just fine.

Translation: The most powerful human in the world was courteous and respectful to an old woman but did not treat the figurehead as a better - that makes me mad as hell at him.....
“”No, scroll down and read the Comments section.””
I did - I read as many as I could stand before I even posted my reply. What did you see that weren’t really nasty comments?
“”I may be mistaken on this but I seem to recall that when a man and a woman are introduced the man doesnt extend his hand for a shake unless the woman extends hers first””
That’s the way I learned also.. Surprising that it doesn’t work.. When I don’t want to shake some man’s hand I’ve gone by that but you get your hand shaken whether you want it or not..
Can’t help but be curious about the “several protocol gaffes” mentioned since walking in front of her (was it a gaffe?) was the only one mentioned. I didn’t see anything that deserved criticism..
One reply to me about my post re the ugly comments at the end of the article didn’t agree. WOW - Have no idea what that person could have seen that wasn’t nasty! Man - we thought we were knee deep in idiots here - guess we should thank our lucky stars ours aren’t as bad as theirs!
“”committed several protocol gaffes that left many feeling that his behavior was an insult to Britain “”
As a ninety something year old woman, she doesnt move too fast. At some point youre bound to go out in front for a few steps. Sure enough, the saw what they wanted, and cast Trump as a devilish oaf.
Add this to the long list of foolish things Trump is now supposedly guilty of.
Silly...
Absolutely silly. It’s clear to anyone who wanted to open their eyes that he had merely misjudged where she was in relation to walking beside him. One minute she was there and the next minute she was gone. Wasn’t it great not to see the preening in her presence that the obozos gave her? I’m sure she sees that all the time but it has to be refreshing to see some real people too - especially as president of the U. S. She looked genuinely glad to see/meet Melania... I’m sure the dems are recalling with glee that the obozos actually had an informal “sit down” with her in a parlor or whatever - remember they met the new grandbaby then? I’d welcome the Trumps any day into my humble abode but never the obozos..
I think some of this is way overdone. Any foreign leader deserves to be treated with some degree of respect, even North Korea's Kim. When you want to get something out of them, how you treat them in person is important. You even toss a bone once in a while. (to people like Kim of course)
There is a lot more to personal relations that how you walk, stand, or even shake hands.
Your tone, your obvious respect, your words and how they are delivered mean a lot. They can overcome moments of miscue.
I suspect the Trumps left the Queen satisfied that she had been treated decently and with respect. I'm sure she left the meeting knowing they were happy to meet her, and that they weren't meaning to show any disrespect whatsoever.
I note some of the Brits get very tweaked by the little things when it comes to the queen. I wonder if these people aren't way over the line in relation to her actual feelings on things.

A friend in London told me that foreign dignitaries have the option of following Royal Protocol. It’s not a requirement for non British citizens.

Normal respect and courtesy, yes, royal etiquette, I think not. We don’t have royalty in the US and for good reason.

As has been correctly pointed out in various media outlets, United States citizens DO NOT bow or curtsy to the Royal Family. Shaking hands is permitted. That was settled back in 1776.

Queen Elizabeth is a very classy lady and I am sure that she will give our president a free pass on whatever royal protocol that he did not follow. The queen will never forget what the US did for England in WW1 and WW2. The queen is grateful to the US and its citizens, and will not let this small stuff bother her. Seems like Yahoo is more bothered than the queen.

Yes, that happens to me as well. I have been known to deploy the crumpled tissue defense with an apologetic excuse of, “I’m so sorry, I seem to have a sniffle”.

We will be very lucky if Britain Does not declare WAR on us for the things Trump did. The heights the low class media does to speak poorly of Trump reaches new lows every day.
On September 13, 2001, a memorial service was held in St. Paul's Cathedral in London. When the “Star Spangled Banner” was played, the Queen of Great Britain joined in the singing of the National Anthem of a foreign power with an air of great grief and love.
While we think of and/or commemorate 9/11 and “Never forget,” this profound act of Queen Elizabeth's is truly something we should always remember.
Thanks - I see that - when I was on the page before it wasn’t highlighted so I couldn’t click on it - it is now. Good to know people spoke up without the criticism..
Just who made you queen to issue such an order? The only "cr@p" (as you call it) is the discredited idea that birthright elevates any man above another. I have nothing against the British monarch, but we Americans do not bow, curtsy or otherwise demonstrate fealty to ANY monarch. We fought two bloody wars against the British crown to settle that issue.
As you pointed out, Elizabeth accorded our president with the respect due any head of state. President Trump accorded the same to Elizabeth. She is just another person holding an important office; no more and no less.
