President Trump met with the queen of England today and committed several protocol gaffes that left many feeling that his behavior was an insult to Britain and lacked the respect that should be shown the monarch — and if not a monarch, a 92-year-old woman.
The president was soundly condemned on social media for walking in front of Queen Elizabeth as they inspected a guard of honor of the Coldstream Guards. The queen was forced to bob and weave as she caught up to walk alongside him.
Trump did appear to notice, and in the video below you’ll see that as she catches up with him, she gives the tiniest gesture with her hand, signaling to him to continue walking.
Earlier, the president and first lady Melania Trump defied protocol when they greeted the queen: They did not bow or curtsy, but instead opted to simply shake hands. It is not obligatory to bow, as Americans are not her subjects, but doing so is widely considered good manners.

Americans have not had to bow to Brit “monarchy” since 1776. The President should not bow to anybody no matter whose feelings are hurt. F Obozo for all his bowing and ass kissing in his 8 years.

That’s correct. There was a moment of confusion over which side of Trump she should be on to greet the guards, that’s all.

Honestly, it doesn’t take any sort of scientist at all to have predicted that someone was going to go off on the President’s lack of manners while in England.
I’m delighted that the President and First Lady neither bowed nor curtsied to the Queen. It appears that they greeted one another with mutual kindness, respect, and dignity.
The Queen may have time-honored rules of protocol for her subjects but Americans, particularly The President and First Lady, are not her subjects. Since she is not the Queen of the World, I’m pretty certain she herself does not expect the leaders of other countries to bow or curtsy to her.
That said, I hope the Queen continues in health and strength for many years to come. She’s seen her country through many years of hardship, growth, and change. I don’t think Charles will do as well.

Good. If you have not seen the tons of signs that 250,000 protesters in London had about our president, then you might care about this.
However I saw them and read their nasty comments on twitter yesterday and I couldn't care less if anyone in Britain felt insulted yesterday.
I read that if UK stays in the EU we might be cutting trade with them and it looks like it will hurt them enormously. I am so tired of our president being insulted by euroscum.

While they dither away and focus time on stupid things like this, he continues to get things done in the background while they chase something shiny.
