It seems that no bystanders were hurt, etc.

This cop took an enormous risk. For those who object to what he did: Do you want someone to second-guess how you do your job? IMO we need cops like this.
Or would you rather have weenie cops who are only worried about showing up safe at the next barbecue?
Given the story in print and the video I rate this officer as a full-blooded hero.
Note, not one word of praise for the officer sticking with it while under fire.
Nope, all they can see is that terrible officer putting everyone in danger.
